Dubai has not announced its New Year's Eve 2026-27 plans as of 29 October 2026, and the fireworks list usually arrives in late December. Last year the Events Security Committee announced 48 displays at 40 locations on 26 December, with Burj Khalifa among them. So decide now how you want to watch, on the ground, from a viewpoint or from a boat, and book the parts that sell out, such as a night on the Marina yacht party, from $99.

Six ways to spend New Year's Eve in Dubai
#1
Downtown Dubai at the foot of Burj Khalifa
Downtown is where most people head, so expect crowds, road closures, slow taxis and a long walk in and out. It is free but asks for patience: go hours before midnight, agree a meeting point, charge your phone and plan the way home before you leave. It is a hard night for small children or a pushchair.
#2
A viewpoint with a ticket
A ticket buys a place to stand and a view above the street crowd, but it is not the same as watching from the ground, and special dates can have different hours and prices. Do not assume a deck is open at midnight. Message us on WhatsApp and we confirm availability and the price for your slot before you pay.
#3
The Marina yacht party
A normal night runs from 9 PM to 1 AM, which spans midnight, with a live DJ, a live BBQ and 25-45 guests. It is strictly 21 and over, with original ID or passport required. Whether we run it on 31 December, and at what price, we confirm on WhatsApp for your date; no price is published here.
#4
The 1-hour shared yacht tour
A shorter outing: one hour past the Marina, JBR and Bluewaters with a photo stop at Ain Dubai. It ends well before midnight, so use it for a sunset on 31 December or as an easier alternative on another night. Full prepayment secures the slot, and departures are strictly on time, so ask us which slots run.
#5
JBR, Bluewaters and the Marina waterfront
Waterfront promenades are a free alternative to Downtown, but only the late-December list will show which have official displays. Choose by access and crowd rather than hope, arrive early, and plan the journey home, because taxis and ride-hailing will be slow and queues long. Our area guides help you choose.
#6
A quieter night: the desert camp
The full-day safari ends with a camp evening: a BBQ buffet, unlimited soft drinks and a fire show, Tanoura dance and belly dance, with hotel pickup and drop-off and no prepayment. Ask us for the return time on 31 December so you can plan the rest of the night.
New Year's Eve in Dubai 2026-27: what is announced and when
As of 29 October 2026 Dubai has announced nothing official for New Year's Eve, and the fireworks locations usually appear in late December. Last year the Events Security Committee announced 48 displays at 40 locations on 26 December, and Burj Khalifa was among them. That is the pattern to plan around: last year the full list came about five days before the night, and nothing before it.
So you cannot book "the fireworks" today, but you can book the way you want to watch. Choose between the ground, a viewpoint and a boat now, reserve the parts that sell out, and keep the exact spot flexible until the list is out. This page tells you what we know, what we do not, and how our boats fit in.
What we know and what we do not
The honest answer to "where will the fireworks be?" is that no one outside the organisers knows yet. Here is the picture as of 29 October 2026.
| Question | Status |
|---|---|
| Official 2026-27 fireworks locations | Not announced |
| When last year's list came out | 26 December, from the Events Security Committee |
| How big last year's programme was | 48 displays at 40 locations |

Where to watch: from free to ticketed
There are five realistic ways to see in the year, and each costs something different in money, comfort or both.
| Way to watch | Cost | Strength | Catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Street level in Downtown | Free | Burj Khalifa was among last year's locations | Crowds, closures, long walks |
| A waterfront promenade | Free | Easier than Downtown | Depends on the announced list |
| A viewpoint ticket | A paid ticket | A place to stand above the crowd | Hours and prices can differ on the night |
| A hotel or restaurant terrace | Usually a set package | Seats, food and a view | Sells out early; book now |
| A boat | From $32 (1 hour) or from $99 (party) | Space and the skyline from the water | Fixed departure; confirm the date with us |
Prices for our boats are the standard ones; we confirm 31 December on WhatsApp.
The Downtown Dubai area guide shows where the lakeside viewing spots are on a normal evening, and best things to do in Dubai at night lists the rest.
A boat at midnight: what to know
The Marina yacht party is a 4-hour cruise for guests aged 21 and over, boarding at 8:30 PM at the pier behind Al Majara Tower and leaving at 9 PM, with the return around 1:00 AM on a normal night. It costs $99 per person, with full prepayment, and includes a live BBQ, unlimited water, soft drinks and selected juices, and a live DJ. No outside food or drinks are allowed, shoes come off on the boat, and swimwear is not permitted in the evening.
The route passes Dubai Marina and Bluewaters, JBR and the Harbour, the Palm Jumeirah lagoon and the Burj Al Arab. We cannot promise a view of any specific display until the locations are announced, and cruises are subject to sea conditions, because safety comes first. Read the yacht party guide and the dress code and rules before you book.
If you would rather have a boat to yourself, our private charter fleet is another route; ask us about 31 December early, because we confirm both availability and price for that date. The shared yacht tour from $32 is the lighter option.
Getting around on the night
Plan the way home before the way there. Expect road closures around Downtown and the busiest viewing areas, long taxi and ride-hailing queues after midnight, and crowds on foot. The RTA has usually announced public-transport arrangements for New Year's Eve, so check its channels in late December; our Metro guide and taxi and Careem guide cover the basics.
Practical rules: leave early rather than late, carry water and a charged phone, keep your original passport or Emirates ID with you for any boat, and agree a meeting point with your group. Our guide to getting around Dubai has the wider picture.
If crowds are not your idea of a night out
Not everyone wants a street party. A desert camp evening, with a BBQ, shows and no queue for a taxi, is the quiet alternative, and the full-day desert safari is from $45 with hotel pickup and no prepayment. Ask us for the return time on 31 December before you decide.
You can also start the year the other way round: ask whether a 1 January sunrise balloon is open. It is from $275, a 30% deposit confirms it, the baskets sell out one to two weeks ahead, and flights depend on the weather. Our nightlife guide and the alcohol laws guide cover the rules for the evening if you go out.
A timeline: what to do and when
A simple order of work keeps the date from becoming stressful.
- Now: decide how you want to watch, and book hotels and restaurants with a view. Hotels and restaurants with a view of Downtown tend to fill and charge more for the night.
- Early December: message us about 31 December if you want a boat or a desert evening, so we can confirm availability and price for your date.
- Around 26 December: check for the official announcement. Last year's list came out on that date.
- 31 December: leave early, carry your ID, and have a way home.
