Dubai Marina Yacht Party — $99 per person

The Dubai Marina yacht party has five rules that decide your night: it is strictly 21+, an original ID or passport is checked at boarding, you board at 8:30 PM at the marina pier behind Al Majara Tower for a 9:00 PM departure that does not wait, the dress code is smart casual or party wear with no swimwear, and no outside food or drinks come on board because the $99 ticket includes the live BBQ and unlimited soft drinks. Shoes come off on the boat, so bring socks. Here is each rule in detail, what to wear by season, and the alternative if your group does not fit.

What is the dress code for the Dubai Marina yacht party?

Smart casual or party wear, with swimwear not permitted. Shoes come off on the boat, so bring socks and wear easy-off footwear. From November to March add a light jacket or pashmina for 14-20°C on the water after dark; from May to September the lightest fabrics for 30°C+ nights. Boarding is at 8:30 PM and there are changing facilities on board.

The rules that matter, in order

Strictly 21+, ID in hand #1
Original passport or Emirates ID; a photo on the phone is not enough Knowing before you buy the ticket

Strictly 21+, ID in hand

The party is a 21+ cruise and the check is at the pier, not online: every guest shows an original ID or passport before boarding, and no ID means no entry and no refund. The rule is stricter than on a private charter, where a copy on the phone is accepted, because the party is a 21+ night event. Anyone under 21 in your group needs a different boat.

Boarding 8:30 PM, departure 9:00 PM sharp #2
The marina pier behind Al Majara Tower, Dubai Marina Arriving 30 minutes early; the yacht does not wait

Boarding 8:30 PM, departure 9:00 PM sharp

Boarding opens at 8:30 PM at the pier behind Al Majara Tower, with the exact spot sent to you on booking, and the yacht leaves at 9:00 PM exactly. There are no refunds for latecomers, so treat 8:30 PM as the real start time and take a taxi rather than gambling on the tram. The route brings you back to the same pier around 1:00 AM.

Smart casual or party wear #3
No swimwear; shoes off on board Socks and, from November to March, a light jacket

Smart casual or party wear

Dress as you would for a good bar in the Marina: smart casual or party wear, whatever that means for you, with the one hard exclusion that swimwear is not permitted for the evening party. Shoes come off on the boat to protect the decks, so heels are decorative for the walk to the pier only and socks are the practical addition. Changing facilities and a toilet are on board.

What the $99 includes #4
Live BBQ, unlimited water, soft drinks and selected juices Eating on board; nothing from outside

What the $99 includes

One ticket covers the 4-hour cruise, a live BBQ from the grill with meat, chicken, sliders, salads and desserts, unlimited water, soft drinks and selected juices, the DJ and sound system, the crew, and the toilet and changing facilities. Because the food and drinks are in the ticket, no outside food or beverages are allowed on board, and that includes anything alcoholic.

The DJ, the decks and the crowd #5
House, R&B and chart hits for 25-45 guests Moving between decks; no assigned seats

The DJ, the decks and the crowd

A live DJ plays house, R&B and chart hits for an international crowd of usually 25 to 45 guests, which is enough for a real party without a queue for the deck rail. There are no assigned seats: you move between the decks, the BBQ and the rail as the yacht passes Ain Dubai, JBR, the Palm lagoon and Burj Al Arab. Dubai's public behaviour laws apply on the water as on land.

The yacht party rules in one minute

The Dubai Marina yacht party is a floating nightclub, and it runs on nightclub rules plus a few from the sea. Here is the whole list; the rest of the article explains each one and what to do if your group does not fit.

  • Strictly 21+. An original ID or passport is mandatory for boarding: no ID, no entry, no refund.
  • Boarding 8:30 PM at the marina pier behind Al Majara Tower, Dubai Marina; departure 9:00 PM sharp. The yacht does not wait for latecomers and no refunds are given for a missed departure. Back at the pier around 1:00 AM.
  • Dress code: smart casual or party wear. Swimwear is not permitted for the evening party.
  • Shoes come off on the boat, so bring socks.
  • No outside food or drinks. The $99 ticket includes the live BBQ, unlimited water, soft drinks and selected juices.
  • No assigned seats: you move freely between the decks.
  • Full prepayment confirms the booking; free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. Cruises are subject to sea conditions, and safety comes first.

21+ and the ID check: who gets on board

The age rule is absolute. The minimum age is 21, every guest shows a valid original ID or passport before boarding, and a photo of the passport on your phone is not accepted. That is stricter than a private charter, where a copy on the phone satisfies UAE law, and stricter than the shared 1-hour tour, which takes all ages with an original passport or Emirates ID. The party is a 21+ night event, and 21+ venues in Dubai check ID at the door.

Practically: put the passport in the bag when you leave the hotel, not the photocopy. Hotels sometimes hold passports at check-in; ask for it back before you go. If one person in a group of 6 arrives without an original document, that person does not board and the ticket is not refunded, and the other 5 sail at 9:00 PM without them.

If your group includes anyone under 21, or you simply want a night on the water without the club format, the answer is a private charter: on a private boat guests under 21 stay with an adult, you bring your own music, and the whole boat is yours from AED 400 per hour. The per-person maths for both formats by group size is in yacht party vs private charter.

Timing: 8:30 PM boarding, 9:00 PM departure, back about 1 AM

Boarding opens at 8:30 PM at the marina pier behind Al Majara Tower in Dubai Marina; the exact pier location is sent to you on booking, so keep the WhatsApp confirmation open on your phone. The yacht departs at 9:00 PM exactly and does not wait, which in a city where taxis sit in traffic on Friday and Saturday evenings around the Marina means leaving your hotel earlier than feels necessary. From Downtown budget 25-40 minutes by car and AED 50-70 in a taxi, more in the evening rush, and check the app before you go.

The route runs about 4 hours: out of the Marina past Bluewaters Island and Ain Dubai, along JBR, through Dubai Harbour, around the lagoon of Palm Jumeirah to the Burj Al Arab photo stop, and back to the same pier around 1:00 AM. Ain Dubai and the Palm crescent are the two photographs of the night; the yacht gets close to the wheel on the way out.

Getting home is the part people forget. The Dubai Metro runs until around midnight or 1 AM depending on the day, so do not plan on it for a 1 AM finish; a taxi or Careem from the Marina is the sensible ending, and the drivers know the pier. If you drive, note that Dubai Marina Mall offers 3 hours of free parking and the night runs 4.5 hours from boarding, so the free window does not cover it. The full arrival guide is in how to get to the yacht pier.

What to wear: smart casual or party wear

The dress code is smart casual or party wear, and the crowd reads it the way a Marina rooftop bar would: a shirt or a polo with trousers or good jeans, a dress or a jumpsuit, trainers, sandals or loafers. Swimwear is not permitted, and there is no swimming on the night cruise anyway; the Coast Guard closes swimming from boats at 7 PM in summer and 5 PM in winter, hours before the party leaves.

Shoes come off on the boat to protect the decks, which changes the calculation for footwear: wear whatever you like to the pier, but plan to spend the 4 hours in socks or barefoot. Socks are the single most useful thing in the bag, and in winter they are the difference between comfortable and cold feet on the return leg. Heels, laced boots and anything that takes a minute to remove are a nuisance at the rail.

The season decides the rest. From November to March the days are 20-30°C, but by 9 PM the air is 14-20°C and the breeze on the upper deck makes it feel cooler, so bring a light jacket, a blazer or a pashmina. From May to September nights stay above 30°C with heavy humidity from July, so the lightest fabrics you own and nothing for warmth. A small bag beats a big one on a boat with no assigned seats, and there are changing facilities on board if you come straight from a beach afternoon.

The same shoes-off rule and the seasonal advice apply to every boat in the Marina; the trip-by-trip version, including the private charter where swimwear is the point, is in what to wear and bring on a yacht.

What is included in the $99, and what is not

The ticket is all-inclusive in the nightclub sense: the cruise, the food, the soft drinks and the entertainment are one price, and the only things you pay for separately are getting to the pier and getting home. There is no hotel pickup on the party, unlike our desert safari and Abu Dhabi day.

Included in the $99Not included
4-hour cruise on the party yacht, 9:00 PM to about 1:00 AMTransport to and from the pier behind Al Majara Tower
Live BBQ from the grill: meat, chicken, sliders, burgers, hotdogs, salads and dessertsAlcoholic drinks: the unlimited drinks are water, soft drinks and selected juices
Unlimited water, soft drinks and selected juicesOutside food or drinks of any kind
Live DJ with a professional sound systemAssigned seating or a private table
Professional crew, on-board toilet and changing facilitiesSwimming or a swim stop

The BBQ is cooked live during the cruise rather than laid out cold, and the menu covers meat, chicken, sliders, salads and desserts, so there is no need to eat before boarding. The drinks are unlimited for the 4 hours and the crew keep them coming; nothing from outside comes on board.

Alcohol policy and behaviour on board

Be clear about the drinks before you book, because this is the question we get most. The ticket's unlimited drinks are water, soft drinks and selected juices. Outside drinks of any kind cannot be brought on board, and that includes alcohol. If drinking is part of your plan for the night, ask us on WhatsApp before you book what is available on the yacht beyond the included drinks, rather than assuming, and read alcohol laws in Dubai for tourists first: alcohol in Dubai is 21+, only in licensed venues and on licensed boats, and being drunk in public, which includes the pier and the taxi rank at 1 AM, is an offence.

The contrast with a private charter is worth knowing. On a private boat you bring your own drinks, alcohol included for guests aged 21+, along with dry food such as pizza, sandwiches and snacks on disposable plates. Groups that want to control the bar choose that route; the party is for people who want the club and the crowd without organising anything.

The behaviour rules are Dubai's, and they follow you onto the water. No public displays of affection beyond holding hands. No photographing other guests, especially women, without asking; the skyline is the subject, not the person next to you. No swearing or rude gestures, on board or in the video you post afterwards.

Zero tolerance on drugs. Smoking only where the crew indicate, never inside. The captain's and crew's instructions on safety are final, cruises are subject to sea conditions, and if the Coast Guard cancels a night for weather you get a full refund or a new date.

Who the party is for, and the alternative if it is not

It is built for solo travellers, couples and groups aged 21+ who want a night out on the water rather than a boat trip: an international crowd of 25-45 guests, a DJ playing house, R&B and chart hits, the BBQ, and the lights of the Marina, the Palm and Burj Al Arab as the backdrop. Pay in advance to confirm the seat, arrive at 8:30 PM with the passport, and the rest is done for you. The night in full, hour by hour, is in the Dubai Marina yacht party guide; where it sits among the city's evenings is in Dubai nightlife for tourists.

It is the wrong boat if anyone is under 21, if you want to swim, if you want your own music, or if you want a quieter night with your own group. For those, book a private charter: Libra at 62 ft takes 24 guests with 3 crew from AED 1,150 per hour with a 2-hour minimum, the X8 houseboat takes 60 from AED 2,800 per hour, and catering with a live BBQ and a chef can be added in advance. A 3-hour evening charter on Libra is AED 3,450 for the boat, AED 144 each with 24 on board, with the bar and the playlist under your control.

Two calendar notes. During Ramadan live music and loud entertainment pause across Dubai, and alcohol in hotels is usually served from the evening only; the dates move about 11 days earlier every year, so check them for your trip and ask us how the party runs in those weeks. And tours are busy around Eid and in the last two weeks of December, so book the date before the flights if the night matters to you.

FAQ

What is the dress code for the Dubai Marina yacht party?

Smart casual or party wear, with swimwear not permitted. Shoes come off on the boat, so bring socks and wear easy-off footwear. From November to March add a light jacket or pashmina for 14-20°C on the water after dark; from May to September the lightest fabrics for 30°C+ nights. Boarding is at 8:30 PM and there are changing facilities on board.

Is the Dubai yacht party 21+?

Yes, strictly. The minimum age is 21 and every guest shows a valid original ID or passport before boarding; no ID means no entry and no refund. Groups with anyone under 21 should book a private charter instead, where guests under 21 stay with an adult and the boat is yours from AED 400 per hour.

What ID do I need for the yacht party in Dubai?

An original passport or Emirates ID, physically with you at the pier at 8:30 PM. A photo or photocopy on your phone is not accepted, unlike on a private charter, where a copy is enough. If your hotel holds your passport at check-in, ask for it back before you leave for the Marina.

What time does the Dubai Marina yacht party start and end?

Boarding is at 8:30 PM at the marina pier behind Al Majara Tower in Dubai Marina, the yacht departs at 9:00 PM sharp and does not wait for latecomers, and the cruise returns to the same pier around 1:00 AM. Plan a taxi home; the Metro runs only until around midnight or 1 AM depending on the day.

Is alcohol included in the Dubai yacht party?

The $99 ticket includes unlimited water, soft drinks and selected juices, and outside drinks of any kind, alcohol included, cannot be brought on board. If drinking is part of your plan, ask us on WhatsApp before booking what is available on the yacht beyond the included drinks. Alcohol in Dubai is 21+ and only in licensed venues and on licensed boats.

Can I bring my own food or drinks to the yacht party?

No. Outside food and beverages are not allowed on board, because the ticket already includes a live BBQ with meat, chicken, sliders, salads and desserts and unlimited soft drinks for the 4 hours. Bring your own is a private charter rule, where dry food and your own drinks are welcome from AED 400 per hour for the whole boat.

Can I wear swimwear or swim at the yacht party?

No on both counts. Swimwear is not permitted for the evening party, and there is no swimming on a night cruise; the Coast Guard closes swimming from boats around 7 PM in summer and 5 PM in winter. For a swim stop off the Palm, book a private daytime charter of 3 hours or more, from AED 1,200 for a sports boat.
