Global Village Season 31 opened on Wednesday 14 October 2026 and runs until May 2027. Khaleej Times reports tickets at AED 25 on weekdays and AED 30 on weekends, the same as last season, with the gates opening at 4 pm. This guide covers the hours (reports differ), who gets in free, what to expect inside, how to get there, which nights are quietest and why a desert safari and Global Village belong on different evenings.

Six things to plan for Global Village this season
#1
Pavilions and shopping
Global Village is built around pavilions that sell crafts, clothes, sweets and gifts from many countries, which is why it feels like a bazaar rather than a theme park. The Khaleej Times season roundup lists pavilions and shopping among the main attractions. Prices are not fixed, so compare before you buy, and keep your bags light.
#2
International food stalls
The season roundup also lists international food, and the stalls are the easiest way to eat a full evening here: pick small plates from several countries rather than one sit-down meal. Food is paid for on top of the entry ticket, so budget separately, and expect queues at the best-known stalls at weekend peak hours.
#3
Live shows and rides
Live shows and rides are part of the season, according to Khaleej Times, under the theme “A More Wonderful World”. Rides and games have been charged separately from entry in past seasons, so decide your ride budget before you go. The show schedule changes, so check the Global Village app when you arrive rather than relying on a printed list.
#4
A weekday evening
A weekday visit costs AED 5 less than a weekend ticket and is the calmer way to see the park. Aim to arrive near the 4 pm opening, walk the pavilions while the light is still good, eat after dark and leave before the closing rush. Weekends and public holidays are the busiest nights, and the queues for rides and taxis show it.
#5
Getting there and home
Global Village sits in Dubailand, away from the Metro, so most visitors arrive by taxi, ride-hailing app or car. The way in is easy; the way out at closing time is the hard part, with a long wait for a ride. Leave a little before closing, or book a car back in advance if you have a late flight or an early start.
#6
The desert evening, on another night
Our full-day desert safari takes about 7 hours from hotel pickup to drop-off, from $45 per person, so it fills the whole evening. Put it on a different night from Global Village: the dunes and the camp programme on one evening, the pavilions and food stalls on the next, and neither visit feels squeezed.
Global Village Season 31: the short answer
Global Village Season 31 opened on Wednesday 14 October 2026 and runs until May 2027. Tickets are AED 25 on weekdays and AED 30 on weekends, the same as last season, according to Khaleej Times, and the gates open at 4 pm. Reports differ on the closing time (midnight or 1 am), so confirm it in the Global Village app on the day you go.
The season opened at 6 pm with a 600-drone show, Khaleej Times and Siasat reported. As of 29 October 2026 the organisers have not published an exact closing date, only “May 2027”. For a visitor the plan is simple: go on a weekday evening, arrive around opening time, allow three to four hours and keep your desert evening for another night. Our full-day desert safari, from $45 per person, takes about seven hours from hotel pickup, so the two do not fit into one night.
Tickets, free entry and what costs extra
Khaleej Times reports the same prices as last season: AED 25 on weekdays and AED 30 on weekends. One report says Sunday now counts as a weekend day, so look at the day printed on your ticket before you pay. Tickets are sold on the Global Village website and app and at the gates; online is the easier route on weekends, when the gate queue is longest.
| Who or what | Price | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Weekday entry | AED 25 | Same as last season, per Khaleej Times |
| Weekend entry | AED 30 | One report counts Sunday as a weekend day |
| Children under 3, visitors aged 65 and over, people of determination | Free, usually | Has applied in past seasons; confirm at the gate and bring ID |
| Rides, games and many experiences | Extra | Charged inside the park in past seasons, not part of entry |
| Food and shopping | Extra | Pay as you go at each stall or pavilion |
Prices as reported as of 29 October 2026. Check the Global Village website or app before you buy.
The entry ticket is the small part of the bill. For a family, rides, food and a few gifts can easily cost more than the gate, so decide a total budget before you arrive rather than relying on the entry price.
Opening hours: what the reports say
Opening hours are the one point where the reports do not agree, so we show both. They agree that the gates open at 4 pm and that the park closes later at weekends. They disagree on which days count as weekdays and on the exact closing time.
| Report | Weekdays | Weekends and public holidays |
|---|---|---|
| First report | 4 pm to midnight, Sunday to Wednesday | 4 pm to 1 am, Thursday to Saturday and public holidays |
| Second report | 4 pm to midnight, Monday to Thursday | 4 pm to 1 am at weekends |
Reports differ. The Global Village website and app have the hours for the day you go.
In practice, plan on arriving between 4 and 6 pm and leaving by about 10 pm, and treat anything later as a bonus. If your plan depends on the closing time, such as a late dinner booking or an early pickup the next morning, check the app that day.
What to expect inside, and what the reports do not say
Global Village is a seasonal open-air park of country pavilions, food stalls, bazaar-style shopping, stage shows and funfair rides. This season’s theme is “A More Wonderful World”, according to the Khaleej Times season roundup in September, which lists pavilions, international food, shopping, live shows and rides.
The reports we checked do not list changes to individual pavilions or rides, so we do not either. Treat the list of pavilions and the show timetable as something to read in the app on the day. Wear comfortable shoes, because the park is large and there is a lot of walking, and bring a light layer for December and January evenings.
In recent years Global Village has also been one of the places with official Diwali fireworks; our Diwali in Dubai guide covers what is announced for this year.
Which night to go
Weekday evenings are calmer and cheaper. Weekends, public holidays and the days around them are the busiest, with long queues at the gate, the rides and the taxi rank. The UAE National Day holiday on 2 and 3 December is one of those peaks; our National Day guide covers what changes for visitors.
The season is long, so there is no need to rush on the opening weeks. The evenings turn pleasantly mild from November, which is when most visitors prefer an outdoor night. Our month-by-month guide to Dubai has the weather for each month, and the December guide covers the holiday weeks.
How to get there and how to get home
Global Village is in Dubailand, off the main roads and away from the Metro. Taxi, ride-hailing and car are the usual ways to arrive. Our guide to getting to Global Village and Miracle Garden has the taxi and bus options.
Plan the return as carefully as the arrival. Everyone leaves at once at closing time, and a ride can take a long time to find. Leave a little before closing, or arrange a car in advance. If you want the desert and the capital without arranging transport, our desert safari and Abu Dhabi city tour both include hotel pickup.
Global Village or a desert evening: do not stack them
Both are evening plans, and both are good, but they are different things. Global Village is a crowded, international bazaar and funfair; the desert is dunes, a sunset, a camp dinner and shows. Doing both on one night means rushing one of them.
If you only have one evening, choose the one you cannot do at home. For most first-time visitors that is the desert, since Global Village runs until May and can wait for another night.
| Global Village | Our full-day desert safari | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | AED 25-30 entry, then pay as you go | From $45 per person, dinner and drinks included |
| Time | About 3-4 hours, from 4 pm | About 7 hours, from hotel pickup to drop-off |
| Transport | Your own taxi or car | Hotel pickup in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman in an air-conditioned 4x4 |
| Food | Stalls, paid separately | BBQ buffet with vegetarian options and unlimited drinks |
| Children | All ages; under-3s usually free | Not recommended for infants under 3 |
Our prices are per person; the quad bike upgrade is $65. You agree the date on WhatsApp and pay on the day.
A good two-day pattern is the desert on the first evening, then a morning in the souks with our Old Dubai walking tour, from $35 and 3-4 hours, and Global Village that night. The real souks in the morning and the pavilion version at night make a neat pair. If you prefer to drive something, the evening quad bike safari starts from $70 per person.
