Dubai works for teenagers when the plan follows the age limits: the donut ride is from 12, parasailing and wakeboarding from 15, and the flyboard and driving a jet ski from 16, with solo quad riders aged 16-55. This guide sets out what each age can do, the theme parks and indoor days, the rules for passports, dress and alcohol, and a five-activity budget of about $260 for a 13-year-old and $370 for a 16-year-old.

Six things teenagers like most in Dubai
#1
Evening quad bike safari
A full hour of self-drive quad biking behind a guide, then sandboarding, a camel ride, a BBQ buffet and a fire show. Solo riders are 16-55; under-16s ride on a bike shared with an adult. It costs from $70 per person on a shared quad or $105 on your own, with nothing to prepay.
#2
Water sports at Umm Suqeim harbour
Five activities run from one base, and each has its own minimum age: donut ride 12, parasailing and wakeboarding 15, flyboard and driving a jet ski 16. The base leaves 30 minutes between activities, so a group can try two in a morning. Every participant needs an original passport or Emirates ID.
#3
IMG Worlds of Adventure
A fully indoor, air-conditioned park with 22 rides and attractions in six zones, and general admission of AED 365 with VAT on the park's ticket page. The big coasters want a height of 1.25 m, and the Haunted Town walk-through is for ages 15 and over. Allow five to seven hours and take a taxi, because no Metro station serves it.
#4
Aquaventure at Atlantis The Palm
A waterpark with more than 100 slides and attractions, including the near-vertical Leap of Faith drop through a shark lagoon. Day tickets run roughly AED 300-430, cheaper online than at the gate. Allow five to seven hours, and take the Palm Monorail from Gateway station, about 15 minutes.
#5
Ski Dubai
Indoor snow just below freezing all year, with a Snow Park and a slope for skiers and snowboarders. Passes run roughly AED 150-260 and sessions are usually two hours. The minimum age depends on the pass, so confirm it when you book. The mall also has food and shops for a rest between rides.
#6
Global Village in the evening
A seasonal park of country pavilions, street food, shows and funfair rides. Season 31 runs from 14 October 2026 to May 2027, and entry is AED 25 on Monday to Thursday and AED 30 on any day, with VAT included, according to the official site. Rides and food cost extra, so set a budget before you go.
Dubai with teenagers: the short answer
Dubai works for teenagers when the plan follows the age limits: the donut ride is from 12, parasailing and wakeboarding from 15, and the flyboard and driving a jet ski from 16, with solo quad riders aged 16-55. Below those ages there are still good options: a quad shared with an adult, a desert safari, a zipline from 12 and any of the indoor parks. The pattern that works is one big outing a day and free time in between.
Ages matter more than budget. If your group has mixed ages, the water sports base and the quad safari each have a ladder of minimum ages, set out below. Send us everyone's age and approximate weight on WhatsApp before you book, and we confirm what each person can do before you pay. Winter, from November to March, is the comfortable season for the outdoor plan, and the parks listed below cover any hot or wet day.
Adrenaline by age: what each teenager can do
The table lists the activities teenagers ask about most, with the price and the rule that decides who can take part. Prices are per person unless stated, and the rules are the operators' minimums, not guidelines.
| Activity | Price | Age and rules |
|---|---|---|
| Evening quad bike safari | From $70 on a shared quad; $105 on your own | Solo riders 16-55; under 16 share a bike with an adult; the minimum is 10-14 depending on the session |
| Full-day desert safari | From $45; $65 with a 30-minute quad | Best from about 5; the driver sets the intensity of the dune bashing |
| Jet ski to the Burj Al Arab | From $79 per jet ski, two can share | 16 to drive; passengers from 5 |
| Donut ride | From $149 per ride, up to four riders | 12 and over |
| Parasailing | From $99 solo; $179 tandem | 15 and over; about 150 kg per flight |
| Wakeboarding | From $139 | 15 and over |
| Flyboard | From $89 | 16 and over; about 120 kg |
| XLine zipline, Dubai Marina | AED 499 for ages 12-16; AED 699 for adults | 12-65, at least 130 cm, 45-100 kg; a parent's consent in person under 18 |
| Scuba try dive, Deep Dive Dubai | From about AED 1,200 | From age 10 |
| Tandem skydive | About AED 2,200-2,750 | 18-75, so not for teenagers |
Prices and rules from the tour pages and our guides; check before you book, because operators can change them.
In practice a 12 to 14-year-old can do the donut ride, the zipline, a jet ski as a passenger and the desert safari, and can quad on a shared bike with an adult. A 15-year-old adds parasailing and wakeboarding. At 16 everything on the water opens, including driving the jet ski, the flyboard and a quad of their own. The second rider on a jet ski costs nothing, so a parent and a teenager can share one from $79. For the full rules and the weight limits, see water sports age and weight rules, quad biking in Dubai and the XLine zipline guide.
Theme parks, water parks and indoor days
Teenagers usually want at least one big park. Choose one park a day, because each is a full day. IMG Worlds is the safe pick for summer, rain and teenagers, since it is fully indoors; Motiongate is mostly outdoors and best from November to March. Our best theme parks guide ranks them by age group and by month.
| Place | Ticket | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| IMG Worlds of Adventure | AED 365 with VAT | Fully indoors; 22 rides in six zones; big coasters need 1.25 m; the Haunted Town is for ages 15 and over |
| Motiongate | Check the official site | Mostly outdoors, so best from November to March; part of Dubai Parks and Resorts |
| Aquaventure, Atlantis The Palm | Roughly AED 300-430 | Allow five to seven hours; the biggest slides suit teenagers and adults |
| Ski Dubai | Roughly AED 150-260 | Snow Park or slope pass; sessions are usually two hours |
| Global Village | AED 25 Monday to Thursday; AED 30 any day | Open in the evening from 4 pm; rides and food cost extra |
| Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi | About AED 345 online | Formula Rossa is under maintenance; check the park's ride page before you buy |
Global Village prices include VAT, from the official site. Other prices from our park guides; they change, so check each official site.

Rules and practical points for teenagers
Dubai is easy for young visitors, but a few rules decide whether an activity goes ahead on the day:
- Documents. Every participant in our water sports and yacht tours needs an original passport or Emirates ID, children and teenagers included. A photo on a phone is not accepted.
- Consent and age. Under 18, the XLine zipline needs a parent's consent in person, and quad riders under 16 must share a bike with an adult.
- Alcohol. The legal age is 21, and drinks are served only in licensed venues. Our Marina yacht party is strictly 21+, so teenagers should choose the shared 1-hour yacht tour, which welcomes all ages. See alcohol laws for tourists.
- Dress. Cover shoulders and knees in malls and Old Dubai. Swimwear is for beaches and pools, and wet swimwear is not acceptable in malls.
- Beaches. Swim only inside the marked zone while a lifeguard is on duty, and never when the red flag is up.
- Photos, drones and vaping. Teenagers with phones should read Dubai rules for tourists, which covers fines and photo rules, and vaping and e-cigarettes in Dubai before the trip.
Dubai is one of the easier big cities for visitors. The real cautions are practical: the heat from May to September, the sea at open beaches and the desert, which you visit only with a licensed operator.
A five-activity budget for a teenager
Here is what a teenager's paid activities cost on a five-day trip, using our fixed prices and the IMG Worlds ticket. It covers activities only, not the hotel, food or transport.
| Day | A 13-year-old | A 16-year-old |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Shared yacht tour, from $32 | Shared yacht tour, from $32 |
| Day 2 | Donut ride, $37 each when four share a $149 tube | Flyboard, from $89 |
| Day 3 | Full-day desert safari, from $45 | Evening quad safari on your own quad, $105 |
| Day 4 | IMG Worlds, about $99 (AED 365) | IMG Worlds, about $99 (AED 365) |
| Day 5 | Abu Dhabi city tour, from $45 | Abu Dhabi city tour, from $45 |
| Total | About $260 | About $370 |
AED 365 converted at the fixed rate of 3.6725 dirhams to the dollar. Tour prices are per person and start from the figures shown.
The desert safari and the Abu Dhabi tour need nothing in advance; the yacht and the water sports are paid in full to confirm the slot. For hotels, food and transport, see how much a Dubai trip costs. Our Abu Dhabi tour and the donut ride are the easiest to fit around a mixed-age group.
Winter or summer with teenagers
From November to March the weather suits the quad safari, the water sports and the outdoor parks: our month guides give 20-30°C days and a sea of 20-24°C, and the water sports base is at its most comfortable from October to April. In summer, with 38-45°C by day, plan the indoors: IMG Worlds, Ski Dubai, the malls and the evening desert safari in an air-conditioned vehicle.
If your teenagers are keener on food and shopping than rides, the malls and the street food of Old Dubai make an easy half day. For the whole season, see best things to do in Dubai in winter.
