Aquaventure is a full-day waterpark at Atlantis The Palm, with day tickets around AED 300-430 and more than 100 slides and attractions. The headline slide is Leap of Faith, a near-vertical drop through a shark lagoon, and the ticket also covers the river ride, kids' areas and the Atlantis beach. Take the Palm Monorail from Gateway station, about 15 minutes. This guide covers rides, height rules, timing and the Palm from the sea on our jet ski ride to the Burj Al Arab and Atlantis, $140 per jet ski.

Five ways to plan a Palm Jumeirah day
#1
A full Aquaventure day
The plan is simple: arrive for opening, do the big tower slides while the queues are short, take the river ride at midday, then spend the afternoon on the beach. Day tickets run roughly AED 300-430 depending on date and channel, and online usually beats the gate. Allow 5-7 hours.
#2
Getting there by monorail
The monorail climbs the Palm trunk from Gateway station to Atlantis Aquaventure in about 15 minutes for roughly AED 20-30 return, with Burj Al Arab and the sea in view. From Dubai Marina, take the Red Line to DMCC or Sobha Realty, then the tram to the Palm Jumeirah stop.
#3
The Lost Chambers aquarium
The Lost Chambers is the indoor aquarium in the same resort, set among sunken ruins with shoals of fish and rays. It is a good break from the sun if the children have had enough water, but it is a separate ticket. Our Lost Chambers guide covers what you see and whether it is worth adding.
#4
The View at The Palm
An open-air terrace on the 52nd floor looks down on the fronds, the lagoon and the Marina skyline. Tickets are about AED 70-100, and it suits the hour after a waterpark day, when the sun is lower. It is a separate trip from Atlantis, so it needs a taxi or the monorail back down the trunk.
#5
The Palm from the sea by jet ski
Our 60-minute guided jet ski ride follows an instructor from Umm Suqeim harbour past the Burj Al Arab to Atlantis on the Palm. It costs $140 per jet ski, and two riders can share one at no extra charge. Doing it on a separate day from a full waterpark day keeps both enjoyable.
Aquaventure tickets: the short answer
A day ticket costs roughly AED 300-430, depending on the date and where you buy it. Online usually beats the gate, and prices change, so check the Atlantis site before you pay. For that you get a day in a park of more than 100 slides and attractions, a river ride, children's areas and the Atlantis beach. Allow 5-7 hours, arrive when it opens at about 10 AM, and do the big slides first.
The honest verdict: it is the best thrill waterpark in Dubai and it is expensive. It suits teenagers and adults best. For younger children, Wild Wadi is smaller and calmer; our Aquaventure or Wild Wadi comparison and the best water parks in Dubai rank them by age.
Work out the cost before you go. If everyone pays the day-ticket price, a family of four spends roughly AED 1,200-1,700 on entry alone, before food, lockers and the trip there. Children's prices and age bands can lower that, so read the booking page. It is money well spent only if you will use the whole day.
The rides: what to do first
Aquaventure is built around the Ziggurat, the stepped slide tower, and a long river that circles the park. Do the tower slides early, before the queues build.
| Ride type | What it is | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Leap of Faith (the Ziggurat) | A near-vertical drop from the top of the tower through a shark lagoon | Teenagers and adults; the first thing to do in the morning |
| Other tower slides (Shark Attack, Poseidon's Revenge and more) | Fast body and tube slides, some through the shark lagoon | Teenagers and adults who like speed |
| The Rapids river | A long river ride by tube, with currents and rapids | Everyone; the break between slides |
| Family and raft rides | Slides for groups in tubes and rafts | Families with children who are tall enough |
| Children's areas | Shallow play areas and small slides | Toddlers and young children, with an adult |
| The beach | Atlantis's own sand and sea, included in the ticket | A calm afternoon after the slides |
Ride names and what is open change; check the official ride list on the day.
Height rules, ages and who it suits
Heights are set ride by ride, and the biggest slides are for taller children: Leap of Faith asks for around 1.2 m. Measure your child before you buy, and check the official ride list for exact limits. A child who cannot ride the big slides still has the river, the pools and the children's areas.
Very young children are free or discounted, with age and height bands on the booking page. Everyone needs proper swimwear. Non-swimmers should stay in the shallow areas with an adult, and life jackets are the sensible choice; ask at the entrance.
| Who | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Toddlers and under-fives | Children's areas and shallow pools with an adult; most big slides are out |
| Children who pass the height checks | Family rides, the river and some mid-size slides |
| Teenagers and adults | The Ziggurat slides, the river and the beach |
| Non-swimmers and nervous swimmers | The river with a life jacket and the shallows; avoid the deep-water drops |
Height and age limits are the park's and can change; check the official site before you buy.
Each slide posts its own restrictions, and several are not suitable for pregnant visitors or for people with back, neck or heart problems. Ask your doctor if you are unsure, and follow the lifeguards' instructions. Wear swimwear without hard buckles, and take off loose jewellery before the fast slides. Children should stay with an adult in the pools at all times, even in the shallow areas.
Tickets, prices and what to bring
A day ticket is roughly AED 300-430, and the gate usually costs more than booking online. Check whether lockers, towels and sunbeds are in the price, because those are typical extras. Food inside is resort-priced, and most waterparks restrict outside food and drink, so check the rules before you pack a cool bag.
Bring swimwear, high-SPF sunscreen, flip-flops, a rash vest if you burn easily and a waterproof phone pouch. Keep valuables in a locker, not on the slide. If you want more in the same resort, The Lost Chambers aquarium is a separate ticket, and The View at The Palm is a separate trip back down the trunk.
How long to allow, and when to go
Allow 5-7 hours. Arrive at opening, which is about 10 AM. The park closes in the late afternoon or early evening depending on the season, so check the hours for your date. By midday the queue for Leap of Faith is long, so go there first.
Weekdays outside school holidays are calmer. Fridays, weekends and holiday weeks are busiest. From November to March the weather is mild and comfortable all day. From June to August the water feels welcome, but you need shade, sunscreen and drinking water, and we would avoid the 12 PM-3 PM sun on the beach. Our Dubai in summer guide covers the heat, and the month-by-month guide shows the weather for each month.
A sensible Aquaventure day, hour by hour
Waterparks reward a plan. This is the order we would follow, assuming the park opens at about 10 AM; shift it by the actual opening time.
| Time | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| About 10:00 AM | Arrive at opening, lockers, straight to the Ziggurat | Short queues for Leap of Faith and the other tower slides |
| About 11:30 AM | The family and raft rides | Queues grow after the tower slides; do these before lunch |
| About 12:30 PM | Lunch and a rest in the shade | The sun is strongest from 12 PM to 3 PM |
| About 1:30 PM | The Rapids river | A low-effort ride while the slides are busiest |
| About 3:00 PM | The beach | Lower sun and no queues |
| Late afternoon | Leave, or go up to The View at The Palm | The park closes in the late afternoon or early evening |
Times are a suggestion built around a 10 AM opening; check the park's hours for your date.
If anyone in your group has had enough early, the beach and the pools are a good place to wait.
How to get to Atlantis The Palm
Aquaventure is at Atlantis, at the top of the Palm Jumeirah crescent. There is no Metro on the Palm, so every route ends with a taxi or the monorail.
| From | Route | Time and cost (about) |
|---|---|---|
| Dubai Marina or JBR | Taxi, or the tram to the Palm Jumeirah stop and then the monorail | Taxi 20-30 minutes, about AED 35-50; monorail about 15 minutes |
| Downtown Dubai | Taxi, or the Red Line, tram and monorail | Taxi 25-35 minutes; about 1.5 hours door to door by train |
| Dubai airport | Taxi, or Metro, tram and monorail | See our airport guide for the cost and time |
The monorail costs roughly AED 20-30 return; the Metro and tram use a Nol card.
The step-by-step routes are in Dubai Marina to Palm Jumeirah, Downtown to Palm Jumeirah and the Palm Jumeirah area guide.
The Palm from the sea: a different way to see Atlantis
Aquaventure is the Palm from the inside. From the sea you see Atlantis, the crescent and the lagoon as a skyline. Our jet ski ride leaves from Umm Suqeim Fishing Harbour in Jumeirah. The 30-minute ride to the Burj Al Arab starts from $79 per jet ski, and the 60-minute ride that continues to Atlantis is $140. An instructor leads, takes photos and videos and sends them free, and two riders share one jet ski at no extra cost. Drivers must be 16 or older and passengers at least 5.
Each rider needs an original passport or Emirates ID, not a copy. There is no hotel pickup, and full prepayment confirms the slot. Our jet ski guide explains the rules.
Prefer a boat? The 90-minute speedboat tour from the Marina, from $45 per person, circles the Palm Jumeirah crescent to Atlantis, but it does not take children under 5. The shared yacht tour from $32 stays in the Marina and welcomes children under adult supervision. After a full day in a waterpark, most guests want a gentler sea day later in the trip, not the same afternoon.
FAQ
How much are Aquaventure tickets?
Roughly AED 300-430 for a day ticket, depending on the date and where you buy it; online is usually cheaper than the gate. Very young children are free or discounted. Prices change, so check the Atlantis site before you pay.
How long do you need at Aquaventure?
Allow 5-7 hours. Arrive when it opens at about 10 AM and do the big slides first, before the midday queues. The park closes in the late afternoon or early evening depending on the season, so check the hours for your date.
What is the height limit for Leap of Faith?
Around 1.2 m for the biggest slides, but limits are set ride by ride and the park can change them. Measure your child before you buy and check the official ride list for exact figures.
Is beach access included with Aquaventure?
Yes, the ticket includes the Atlantis beach. Confirm on the booking page that this is still the case, and ask whether sunbeds, lockers and towels are extras.
How do I get to Aquaventure by public transport?
Take the Red Line to DMCC or Sobha Realty, the tram to the Palm Jumeirah stop, then the Palm Monorail from Gateway station to Atlantis Aquaventure, about 15 minutes for roughly AED 20-30 return. Allow about 1.5 hours from Downtown.
Is Aquaventure good for toddlers?
Partly. Toddlers have the children's areas and shallow pools with an adult, but most big slides are out. If you have mainly small children, Wild Wadi is smaller and calmer, and an aquarium is a shaded alternative.
Should I choose Aquaventure or Wild Wadi?
Aquaventure for the biggest slides, the river and the beach, as a full day with teenagers and adults. Wild Wadi for a half day beside the Burj Al Arab, with a smaller park and ride list. Our comparison guide ranks them by age.
