The View at The Palm is an observation deck on Level 52 of the Palm Tower, 240 metres up, with standard tickets from about AED 100-115. It is the best way on land to see the whole Palm laid out below you, and a late-afternoon slot costs more but catches sunset. This guide gives the slot to ask for each month, what the packages include, how long to stay, how to get there, and when the Palm looks better from the sea.

Five ways to see the Palm
#1
The View, an off-peak morning slot
Off-peak slots cost less than prime time, and the morning gives you the Palm fronds and the lagoon in flat, clear light, with the Marina skyline across the water. It is the sensible choice on a budget, in winter, or when the sky is clear. In summer, haze can soften the horizon by midday, so go early.
#2
The View, the prime-time sunset slot
The slot that most visitors should ask for. Arrive about an hour before sunset, see the fronds in daylight, watch the sun go down over the sea, and stay as the lights come on. Prime-time slots cost more than off-peak ones, and the terrace is busiest then, so book ahead.
#3
The monorail up the trunk
The monorail is both a route and a viewpoint: it runs along the Palm trunk with the sea on both sides and the Burj Al Arab behind. Take the tram to the Palm Jumeirah stop, change to the monorail and get off at Nakheel Mall, which sits under the Palm Tower. It saves a taxi but adds a change.
#4
The Palm from the sea: 90-minute speedboat
Our shared speedboat tour leaves the Marina and rounds the crescent of Palm Jumeirah to Atlantis The Palm, then stops in front of the Burj Al Arab, with live commentary and photo stops. It shows scale and detail that no deck can, though not the shape. The 5 PM departure is $60 and, from October to mid-March, catches sunset.
#5
The Palm by jet ski: 60 minutes to Atlantis
The 30-minute jet ski ride stops at the Burj Al Arab, and the 60-minute ride at $140 per jet ski continues to Atlantis on the Palm. Two riders share one jet ski, drivers must be 16 or over, and the instructor takes photos and videos. It shows the Palm's edge, not its shape, and it needs an original passport or Emirates ID.
The View at The Palm: the short answer
The View at The Palm is an observation deck on Level 52 of the Palm Tower, 240 metres up, with standard admission from about AED 100-115. It sits on the trunk of Palm Jumeirah above Nakheel Mall, and its point is simple: it is the clearest place on land to see the Palm as a shape, with the fronds, the lagoon and the crescent of hotels below you and the Marina skyline across the water.
Ask for a slot about an hour before sunset and expect to pay more for it, because late-afternoon slots are prime time. Allow about an hour to an hour and a half. It is the right choice for first-time visitors who want to understand the Palm, for photographers, and for anyone who finds the Burj Khalifa queue off-putting. Prices and hours change, so check the official site for your date.
What you see and what is included
The deck gives a 360-degree view, with an open-air terrace behind angled glass and an enclosed, air-conditioned area for the heat. Which way you look decides what you see.
- The Palm itself: the fronds lined with villas and private beaches, the lagoon water between them, and the crescent breakwater with Atlantis The Palm and Atlantis The Royal at the top.
- Dubai Marina and JBR: the dense tower skyline across the water, with Dubai Harbour and its marina basin in front of it.
- The Burj Al Arab: along the coast, small but unmistakable, with the Jumeirah shoreline running towards Downtown.
- Downtown and Burj Khalifa: on a clear day you can pick them out on the far horizon, but they are distant. For the tower, go to the tower.
- The exhibit: standard admission includes the viewing deck and a Palm Jumeirah exhibit about the island, which most visitors see in 10-15 minutes.
The official site also sells upgrades, including a Next Level package with a tower experience and fast-track entry. The standard ticket is enough for most visitors, and the fast track is worth considering only at peak hours.
Tickets, hours and packages
Prices depend on the slot, and the venue's own site lists several packages. The ranges below are the usual ones for an adult, and a child ticket costs less.
| Item | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Standard admission, off-peak | From roughly AED 100-115 for an adult |
| Peak or prime-time slot | Higher, roughly AED 150 or more; late-afternoon slots around sunset |
| Next Level package | Roughly AED 190; adds the tower experience and fast-track entry |
| Children | A lower child ticket; very young children are free or reduced, depending on the seller |
| Hours | Daily; hours vary by day and season, so check the timetable for your date |
| Time needed | About 1-1.5 hours, longer for a sunset slot |
| Height and floor | 240 m, Level 52 of the Palm Tower |
Third-party prices, hours and package contents change; check the official site before you pay. We can also book The View at The Palm on request on WhatsApp.
Book a time slot in advance for sunset, and check the cancellation terms before you pay, because slot tickets are often fixed. Bring ID if the booking asks for it.
Sunset by month: the slot to ask for
These are approximate Dubai sunset times, and they shift by a few minutes through each month. The slot column is the entry time to ask for: about an hour before sunset, rounded to the nearest half hour. November to March brings the clearest air; in summer, haze can soften the horizon.
| Month | Sunset (about) | Slot to ask for (about) |
|---|---|---|
| January | 5:40-6:00 PM | 4:30-5:00 PM |
| February | 6:00-6:20 PM | 5:00-5:30 PM |
| March | 6:20-6:35 PM | 5:30 PM |
| April | 6:35-6:50 PM | 5:30-6:00 PM |
| May | 6:50-7:05 PM | 6:00 PM |
| June and July | 7:05-7:10 PM | 6:00 PM |
| August | 6:40-7:05 PM | 5:30-6:00 PM |
| September | 6:05-6:40 PM | 5:00-5:30 PM |
| October | 5:40-6:05 PM | 4:30-5:00 PM |
| November and December | 5:30-5:40 PM | 4:30 PM |
Check the last admission time for your date, because it affects the summer slots. The sun sets over the sea, so the sky is best on a clear evening.

The View at The Palm or the Palm from the sea
The deck and the water give different views. The deck shows the shape and the layout. The sea shows the scale: the crescent hotels rising out of the water, the breakwater, Atlantis close up and the Burj Al Arab ahead. Choose by what you want to remember.
| The View at The Palm | 90-minute speedboat | 60-minute jet ski | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price (about) | AED 100-115 off-peak, more at peak | From $45 per person | $140 per jet ski for the 60-minute ride |
| Time | 1-1.5 hours | 90 minutes | About 1.5 hours at the harbour |
| You see | The whole Palm as a shape, plus the Marina skyline | JBR, Ain Dubai, the Palm crescent, Atlantis and the Burj Al Arab | The Jumeirah coast, the Burj Al Arab and Atlantis |
| Weak point | Haze in summer, peak-hour crowds | Some splashes, not for under-5s or guests 65 and over | Needs an original passport; driver 16 or over |
Our tours: speedboat from Dubai Marina, jet ski from Umm Suqeim harbour. The deck is a third-party ticket that we can book on request.
If you have time for one only, take the deck for the shape and the speedboat for the experience. On a short trip, the Marina-based speedboat tour is the one that goes to the Palm; our one-hour shared yacht tour stays in the Marina, JBR and Bluewaters. Both views also feature in the Palm Jumeirah area guide and in the best views in Dubai.
The View or Burj Khalifa
The Burj Khalifa is far higher, and it shows the whole city rather than one island. Levels 124 and 125 start from $55 per person on a timed ticket, and SKY Level 148, at 555 m, is a higher tier. The View is lower at 240 m but costs less, is easier to reach from the Marina, and shows something the tower cannot: the Palm below you.
With only one choice, take the Burj Khalifa for the city and The View for the Palm. If you are staying in the Marina, JBR or on the Palm, The View is the easier one to fit into an evening. Our Burj Khalifa or Sky Views guide compares the other high decks.
How to get there
The Palm Tower stands on the trunk of the island, above Nakheel Mall. A taxi is the simplest option; the monorail is the scenic and cheaper one.
| Option | Time | Cost (about) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taxi from Dubai Marina or JBR | 20-30 min | AED 35-50 to Atlantis, less to the trunk | Door to door; ask for Palm Tower or Nakheel Mall |
| Tram and monorail from the Marina | 40-60 min | Monorail roughly AED 20-30 return, plus the tram | Tram to the Palm Jumeirah stop, monorail up the trunk, off at Nakheel Mall |
| Red Line, tram and monorail from Downtown | An hour or more | Nol card fares plus the monorail | Red Line to DMCC or Sobha Realty first |
| Hire car | 20-30 min | Fuel plus parking | Parking at Nakheel Mall; check the rates |
Taxi fares and monorail prices change; check the RTA app and the monorail timetable on the day.
The full comparison of taxi, tram and monorail from the Marina is in Dubai Marina to Palm Jumeirah.
Fitting it around our tours
A sunset on the deck pairs with a sea hour in the Marina. Our shared yacht tour is from $32 per person for one hour, with hourly departures, views of Dubai Marina, JBR and Bluewaters, and a photo stop at Ain Dubai. It needs full prepayment, check-in 20 minutes before departure, and no hotel transfer is included. It does not go to the Palm, so it complements the deck rather than repeating it.
The speedboat tour is from $45 per person for 90 minutes and does go round the Palm crescent to Atlantis, with a photo stop at the Burj Al Arab. Pregnant women, children under 5 and guests aged 65 and over are not allowed on board. Tell us on WhatsApp if you want us to book The View as well; we book it on request, and the price is the venue's.
FAQ
How much does The View at The Palm cost?
Standard admission is from roughly AED 100-115 for an adult off-peak, with higher prices for late-afternoon prime-time slots and for packages such as Next Level at roughly AED 190. Child tickets cost less. Prices change, so check the official site or ask us to book it on WhatsApp.
How high is The View at The Palm?
The deck is on Level 52 of the Palm Tower, 240 metres above sea level. That is lower than the Burj Khalifa, whose SKY Level 148 is at 555 m, but high enough to show the Palm as a shape.
What is the best time to visit The View at The Palm?
A slot about an hour before sunset, which means about 4:30 PM in November and December and about 6:00 PM in June and July. Prime-time slots cost more. For clear air and lower prices, an off-peak morning slot between November and March also works well.
How long do you need at The View at The Palm?
Allow about 1-1.5 hours: 10-15 minutes for the exhibit, the rest on the deck and terrace. Allow longer for a sunset slot, when many visitors stay for the first lights.
Is The View at The Palm worth it?
Yes, for the Palm: it is the best place on land to see the island as a shape, and it costs less than the Burj Khalifa. It is less good for the city skyline, and in summer haze can soften the view. If you want closer views, take a boat from the Marina.
How do I get to The View at The Palm?
By taxi, about 20-30 minutes and AED 35-50 from the Marina or JBR. By public transport, take the tram to the Palm Jumeirah stop, then the monorail up the trunk to Nakheel Mall, roughly AED 20-30 return. The Palm Tower stands above the mall.
Can I see the Palm from the sea instead?
Yes. Our 90-minute speedboat tour from Dubai Marina, from $45 per person, rounds the Palm crescent to Atlantis and stops at the Burj Al Arab. The one-hour shared yacht tour, from $32 per person, stays in the Marina, JBR and Bluewaters and does not go to the Palm.
