Wild Wadi is the waterpark in Jumeirah beside the Burj Al Arab, with 30+ rides, day tickets from about AED 250 and a half day to a full day inside. It is smaller and older than Aquaventure, with a steep headline slide, a surf-style flow ride and a wave pool. There is no Metro station nearby, so take the Red Line to Mall of the Emirates and a short taxi. Pair it with our jet ski ride to the Burj Al Arab, from $79 per jet ski, which starts from the same coast.

Five ways to build a Jumeirah day around Wild Wadi
#1
Wild Wadi, then a jet ski to the Burj Al Arab
Our guided jet ski ride starts from the harbour beside the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and stops at the Burj Al Arab for photos. The 30-minute ride is from $79 per jet ski, and two riders share one at no extra charge. Put the park in the morning and the sea in the late afternoon.
#2
Wild Wadi, then lunch at Souk Madinat Jumeirah
Souk Madinat Jumeirah has waterside terraces, wooden footbridges and the Burj Al Arab rising behind them, which makes a gentle lunch when you want a break from the park. It is a short taxi from Wild Wadi.
#3
Wild Wadi, then sunset on the public beach
The public beach beside the Burj Al Arab is free and catches the sunset with the hotel and Madinat's wind towers on the horizon. It works best from November to March, when the evening is mild. Check the flags and swim only where a lifeguard is on duty.
#4
A donut ride for the whole family
A boat tows an inflatable donut tube across the water off Jumeirah for 30 minutes. The price is from $149 per ride for up to four riders, so a family of four pays once rather than four times. Riders must be 12 or older, and the team takes the photos and videos for free.
#5
The Burj Al Arab from the water
The sail-shaped hotel looks different from sea level, and a jet ski ride gets you right up to it. The instructor rides in front, stops for photos and sends you the files after the ride. You cannot walk into the hotel without a booking, but you can look straight at it.
Wild Wadi in one minute
Wild Wadi is the waterpark beside the Burj Al Arab, with 30+ rides, and a day ticket costs roughly AED 250-300. Children under about 1.1 m pay a lower price, online booking is usually cheaper than the gate, and prices change, so check Jumeirah's site before you pay. Allow a half day to a full day. Opening days and hours vary by season and the park closes for maintenance now and then, so check the dates for your trip.
The honest verdict: it is a compact, older park with a few genuinely good rides, set in an excellent location. It suits a half day, teenagers who want the steep slide and the surf ride, and families with young children who find Aquaventure too large. It is not the biggest park in Dubai; for that, see Aquaventure or the comparison in Aquaventure or Wild Wadi. The best water parks in Dubai ranks them all.
The rides worth queuing for
Wild Wadi is themed on Arabian folklore, and its rides are a mix of fast slides, a river, a wave pool and surf machines. These are the ones to head for first.
| Ride | What it is | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Jumeirah Sceirah | The headline slide: a steep, fast drop and the park's biggest thrill | Teenagers and adults after a rush; check the height limit at the entrance |
| Master Blaster | An uphill water coaster where jets push your raft up as well as down | Families with older children, teenagers |
| Wipeout and Flood River | Surf-style wave machines where you ride a board or a body | Teenagers and adults who want to try surfing |
| Breaker's Bay | A wave pool that gives the park its beach feel | Everyone; a rest between rides |
| Juha's Dhow and the children's areas | Shallow play areas and small slides for the youngest | Toddlers and young children, with an adult |
Ride names and which rides are open change; check the park's ride list on the day.
Ages, heights and who it suits
One ticket category is clear: children under about 1.1 m pay a lower price. Each ride then sets its own height, shown at the entrance, and the big slides are for taller children. Measure your child before you buy and check the official ride list. A child who cannot ride the big slides still has the wave pool, the river and the play areas.
Young children need an adult with them at all times in the children's areas. Non-swimmers should keep to the shallow areas and use a life jacket. Several slides are not suitable for pregnant visitors or people with back, neck or heart problems; each ride posts its restrictions, and your doctor should have the final word.
In short: toddlers and young children enjoy the play areas and the wave pool. Teenagers and adults come for the Sceirah and the surf. For a full day with the biggest slides, Aquaventure is the better match.
Tickets, prices and what to bring
Expect roughly AED 250-300 for an adult day ticket. Children under about 1.1 m pay less, and booking online is usually cheaper than the gate. Some Jumeirah hotels include entry for their guests, so ask when you book your room.
Bring swimwear, high-SPF sunscreen, flip-flops, a hat for the queues and a towel if the ticket does not include one. Ask about lockers at the entrance and keep valuables in them. Check the park's rules on outside food and drink before you pack a cool bag, because many waterparks restrict them.
Is it worth the money? A family of four paying full day prices spends roughly AED 1,000-1,200 on entry, against roughly AED 1,200-1,700 at Aquaventure. Child prices and online deals can lower both, so total up the booking page. If you want half a day beside the Burj Al Arab rather than a full day of the biggest rides, Wild Wadi costs less to enter and is easier to cover on foot.
How to get to Wild Wadi
The Jumeirah coast has no Metro station of its own, so every route ends in a taxi. The cheapest plan is the Red Line to Mall of the Emirates and a short taxi from there.
| From | Route | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Mall of the Emirates | Red Line to Mall of the Emirates station, then a short taxi | Usually cheaper and quicker than a long taxi from either end |
| Dubai Marina or JBR | Taxi along the coast, or the Red Line and then a taxi | Avoid the 5-8 PM rush if you can |
| Downtown or the airport | Taxi, or the Red Line to Mall of the Emirates and a taxi | Allow extra time at rush hour |
Metro fares are AED 3-7.5 on a Silver Nol card; taxi fares vary with the time of day.
Our Metro guide explains the Red Line, and the Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab area guide maps the photo spots, beaches and Souk Madinat.
Wild Wadi plus water sports at Umm Suqeim
Wild Wadi sits beside the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the Burj Al Arab. Our water-sports base is Umm Suqeim Fishing Harbour on Jumeirah Road, next to the same hotel, so the two are close neighbours and combine into one day on one stretch of coast. Everything below starts from that harbour: our jet ski ride, tubing donut ride, parasailing, flyboard and wakeboarding. There is no hotel pickup, you meet 20 minutes before your slot, and full prepayment confirms it.
Each rider needs an original passport or Emirates ID, a physical document and not a photo, and the team sends photos and videos free if you collect them before you leave.
| Ride | From | Time | Minimum age |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jet ski to the Burj Al Arab | $79 per jet ski (30 min); $140 for 60 min, which also reaches Atlantis | 30 or 60 minutes | Driver 16, passenger 5 |
| Tubing donut ride | $149 per ride, up to 4 riders | 30 minutes | 12 |
| Parasailing | $99 solo, $179 tandem for two | About 1 hour on the boat, 10-12 minutes in the air | 15 |
| Flyboard | $89 | 30 minutes | 16 |
| Wakeboarding | $139 | 30 minutes | 15 |
Prices are our starting prices: the jet ski is per jet ski and the donut ride per ride; the others are per person. Weight and health limits apply.
Allow about 1 hour at the harbour for the 30-minute jet ski ride and 1.5 hours for the 60-minute ride. A waterpark day plus a sea session is a lot of sun, so choose one big thing per half day: the park in the morning and the sea after a long lunch works well, or the other way round. For help choosing, read our jet ski, parasailing or flyboard comparison and the age, weight and safety rules.
When to go, and a sensible Jumeirah day
Arrive for opening, which is about 10 AM, and do the big slides first, before the queues build. Weekday mornings outside school holidays are the calmest; Fridays, weekends and holidays are the busiest. From November to March the weather is mild all day. From June to August the water is welcome, but the sun is strong, so cover up in the queues, drink water and reapply sunscreen. Our Dubai in summer guide covers the heat.
A good plan: the park from opening to lunch, a shaded meal at Souk Madinat, then the sea from the harbour in the mid-afternoon, or a sunset on the public beach in winter. If the Burj Al Arab is the real goal, our Burj Al Arab guide covers what you can and cannot do at the hotel itself. For kids' ages across the whole trip, see Dubai with kids.
A few practical tips: paved areas in a waterpark get hot underfoot, so keep flip-flops on between rides; reapply sunscreen after each hour in the water, because it washes off; and drink water before you feel thirsty. If anyone in your group is nervous about the big slides, agree a meeting point near the wave pool so the rest can ride while they rest.
FAQ
How much are Wild Wadi tickets?
Roughly AED 250-300 for an adult day ticket. Children under about 1.1 m pay a lower price, and booking online is usually cheaper than buying at the gate. Prices change, so check Jumeirah's site before you pay.
How many rides does Wild Wadi have?
More than 30 rides and attractions, including a steep headline slide, an uphill water coaster, surf-style rides, a wave pool and children's areas. It is smaller than Aquaventure, which has more than 100 slides and attractions.
Is Wild Wadi good for young children?
Yes, for toddlers and young children: the play areas and the wave pool suit them, and the park is easier to cover than Aquaventure. Heights are set ride by ride, so measure your child and check the ride list.
How long do you need at Wild Wadi?
A half day is enough for most visitors, and a full day suits teenagers who want to repeat the big rides. Arrive at about 10 AM and do the big slides first.
How do I get to Wild Wadi by Metro?
There is no Metro station nearby. Take the Red Line to Mall of the Emirates and then a short taxi to Jumeirah. The Metro fare is AED 3-7.5 on a Silver Nol card, and the taxi is metered.
Can you see the Burj Al Arab from Wild Wadi?

Can I do a jet ski ride on the same day as Wild Wadi?
Yes. Our water sports start at Umm Suqeim Fishing Harbour, next to the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, close to the park. Pick one for the morning and the other for the afternoon, bring your original passport or Emirates ID, and prepay to confirm the slot.
