Dubai in June is properly hot: 40-44°C by day, about 30°C at night and a sea near 32°C. It is also cheap, quiet and workable if you stay indoors from 11 AM to 5 PM and come out around sunset, at about 7:05 PM. The best single plan is a late-afternoon Burj Khalifa ticket, from $55, followed by the Fountain. This guide gives an hour-by-hour day, a three-day indoor plan, the closures and the hotel deals.

Five June plans that work in the heat
#1
Burj Khalifa at the 6:00 PM slot
An indoor view of the whole city, timed for the cooler end of the day. Sunset is about 7:05-7:10 PM, so a slot near 6:00 PM catches late daylight, sunset and the first lights on Levels 124 and 125, which have no time limit. Prime-time slots cost more, and we quote the exact price on WhatsApp.
#2
The Dubai Mall and the aquarium
Walking into The Dubai Mall is free, and the Waterfall atrium, the shops and the glass wall of the aquarium fill half a day without a step outdoors. Aquarium tickets are paid and change often, so check the official site. The Metro Link bridge from the station is air-conditioned, with travelators.
#3
Snow at Mall of the Emirates
Ski Dubai keeps a real snow park running while the car park bakes at 42°C. Walking into the mall is free but the snow park is a paid ticket, and ticket types and prices vary, so check the official site. It is a good swap for a beach afternoon that is too hot to enjoy, and the mall has plenty of shade and food.
#4
The shared yacht hour at sunset
From $32 per person for one hour past the Marina, JBR and Bluewaters, with a photo stop at Ain Dubai and chilled bottled water. Departures are hourly, so pick the one nearest sunset, when the breeze is the first pleasant air of the day. Full prepayment secures the slot, and the yacht leaves on time.
#5
A desert camp evening in air conditioning
The full-day safari is from $45 per person, with hotel pickup in an air-conditioned 4x4 and a camp with air-conditioned tents, a BBQ buffet, a fire show and Tanoura and belly dance. There is no prepayment. Be honest with yourself: if you want hours on the dunes in cool air, wait for winter.
Dubai in June: the short answer
Dubai in June is hot, bright and cheap: 40-44°C by day, about 30°C at night and a sea near 32°C. The sun rises at about 5:30 AM and sets at about 7:05-7:10 PM, the latest of the year, so there is light in the evening for a sunset plan. Rain is almost unknown, humidity is lower than in August but already noticeable on the coast, and on windy days the dusty shamal wind can haze the sky.
It works if you flip the day: be outside before 9 AM and after sunset, and be somewhere air-conditioned between 11 AM and 5 PM. The summer midday break for outdoor workers usually runs from 15 June to 15 September, 12:30 to 3 PM, and the ministry confirms it each year; treat those hours as your own break too. The winter attractions have closed and hotel rates are low. Compare it with May, which is a little milder, and July, which is hotter and more humid.
A June day by the clock
In June the clock matters more than the sights. This is the order that keeps you comfortable.
| Time | How it feels | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 5:30-9 AM | Warm already; the best outdoor hours | A swim at JBR or Kite Beach, the Marina Walk, or the 8:00 AM Abu Dhabi pickup |
| 9-11 AM | Hot and rising | The last outdoor stops, then head inside by 11 |
| 11 AM-5 PM | 40-44°C, harsh sun | The indoor plan: malls, aquarium, Ski Dubai, or the hotel pool in the shade |
| 5-6 PM | Still very hot | Reach The Dubai Mall for a Burj Khalifa slot at about 6:00 PM |
| 7:05-7:10 PM | Sunset; the air starts to ease | From the tower, or on the water on the Marina |
| After 8 PM | Hot and heavy near the coast | Dubai Fountain, dinner on a terrace, a yacht night or the desert camp |
Temperatures are typical bands, not forecasts.
Walking is the thing to skip, not the sights. Take the Metro (air-conditioned, every 3-7 minutes) or a taxi for any distance over ten minutes. Metro fares start at about AED 3 a trip.
An indoor-first plan for three June days
Each day below keeps the 11 AM to 5 PM stretch indoors and puts the outdoors at the two ends of the day. Swap the order to suit your flights.
| Day | Morning | Hottest hours | Late afternoon and evening |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day 1: Downtown | The Dubai Mall when it opens, a walk through the Waterfall atrium | The aquarium, lunch and the shops | Burj Khalifa slot at about 6:00 PM, then the Dubai Fountain |
| Day 2: Abu Dhabi | 8:00 AM pickup; the Grand Mosque first | BAPS Mandir, Heritage Village and an air-conditioned lunch stop | Back in Dubai in the late afternoon; pool, then dinner |
| Day 3: Marina and Palm side | A swim at JBR before 9 AM | Mall of the Emirates and Ski Dubai | The shared yacht hour at sunset, or the desert safari with pickup |
The Museum of the Future is temporarily closed, so it is not in the plan. Check whether it has reopened.
Walking into the malls is free, but attraction tickets, such as Ski Dubai and the aquarium, are paid and change often, so check the official sites. The longer summer version of this plan is Dubai in summer.
Burj Khalifa in June: ask for the 6:00 PM slot
A tower is the best use of a June afternoon because the visit is indoors, with an outdoor terrace you can leave or use for a minute. Sunset is at about 7:05-7:10 PM, so the slot to ask for is about 6:00 PM. With no time limit on Levels 124 and 125, one ticket shows the city in late daylight, at sunset and lit up after dark. In summer, haze can soften the daytime horizon, so an evening slot often shows more than a midday one.
Levels 124 and 125 are from $55 per person; SKY Level 148, with a lounge, a host and refreshments, is from $115. Sunset and other prime-time slots cost more, and we confirm the exact price for your slot on WhatsApp. Tickets are prepaid for a fixed date and slot and cannot be refunded or changed, so check the time first. Allow 1.5-2 hours on the decks, and be inside The Dubai Mall before your slot: the security check and the walk to the lower ground floor come first.
Finish at the Dubai Fountain, which plays on Burj Lake every 30 minutes from about 6 PM until 11 PM (check Emaar's channels for the current timetable). It is still warm at 7:30 PM, so watch one show and go. More on the timing in the best time to visit Burj Khalifa, Level 124 vs 148 and the Fountain guide.
The water and the desert after dark
The shared Marina yacht hour is from $32 per person: a premium yacht, hourly departures, chilled bottled water and a photo stop at Ain Dubai. Meet at Level P of Al Majara Tower, check in 20 minutes early and take your shoes off to board. Full prepayment secures the seat. Read the shared yacht tour page or the shared yacht guide. For a longer night, the yacht party is $99 for 21+, boarding at 8:30 PM for a 9 PM to 1 AM cruise with a live DJ and a live BBQ.
The desert safari is built for summer. The pickup is in an air-conditioned 4x4, the camp tents are air-conditioned, and you are on the sand mainly for the sunset. It is from $45 per person with no prepayment, and our summer safari guide is straight about who should wait for winter. The full-day desert safari is the one to book.
The sunrise balloon is different in June: flights depend on the weather day by day, so ask us for your dates before you plan around one.
Hotel deals and flights in June
June is deep in low season. Hotel rates are well below winter, and July and August are usually lower still. Resorts push summer packages, and the usual extras are free breakfast, kids-stay-free, resort credit and late checkout. They vary by hotel, so compare the total, not the headline.
Before you book, check four things:
- The per-night tourism dirham fee, which is added to many rates (see the explainer).
- Whether the pool is shaded or chilled, and whether the beach has a shuttle.
- Free cancellation, because summer plans change.
- The distance to a Metro station or taxi rank.
The saving is real but it is on the room, not the days out.
What has closed, and the heat rules
Miracle Garden and Global Village close for the summer, and Dubai Safari Park usually does too. The Museum of the Future is temporarily closed. Old Dubai on foot is a very-early-morning plan only; our Old Dubai walking tour warns that May to September is very hot. These are the rules we give every summer guest:
- Drink before you are thirsty, and carry water everywhere.
- Light cotton or linen, a hat, sunglasses and high-SPF sunscreen.
- Never leave children or pets in a parked car, and expect seat belts and rails to be hot to touch.
- Carry a light layer for the shops and the Metro, where the air conditioning is strong.
- If someone is dizzy, nauseous or confused, get them into air conditioning, give water and call 998 for an ambulance.
Older travellers, small children and anyone with a heart or breathing condition should ask their own doctor before choosing June.

It is a hot time, not a bad one. Hotels are cheap and queues are short, and the indoor sights, the Burj Khalifa (from $55), the Marina yacht hour (from $32) and the air-conditioned desert camp (from $45) all work. It is a poor choice for long walks, beach afternoons and small children in the midday sun.
Is Dubai cheaper in June?
