Levels 124 and 125 cost from $55; SKY Level 148 from $115. The extra $60 buys the highest deck at 555 m (the lower two are more than 450 m up), priority access and fast track, and a lounge with a multilingual host and Arabic coffee, soft drinks and sweets. You spend about 30 minutes on Level 148, then go down to 125 and 124 with no time limit. Most visitors are happy with Silver; SKY is for the top deck and the lounge. Here is who should pay, how each visit runs and the rules before you book a Burj Khalifa ticket.

Which ticket, by who is going up
#1
Pick Levels 124-125 (Silver)
Floor-to-ceiling glass, telescopes, free Wi-Fi and an outdoor terrace more than 450 m up, with a staircase between the two levels and no time limit. It is the visit most guests need, and it leaves the $60 difference for something else, such as an Old Dubai walk or an hour on the water.
#2
Pick SKY Level 148 (Gold)
You enter with priority access and fast track, and Level 148 at 555 m comes first, for about 30 minutes: the lounge and terrace, a multilingual host, and Arabic coffee, soft drinks and sweets. Then you go down to Levels 125 and 124 and stay as long as you like. SKY slots are limited, so we confirm availability before you pay.
#3
Travelling with children
Children must be accompanied by an adult, and we quote the right tickets once we know their ages, so send them on WhatsApp. On Levels 124 and 125 there is no time limit, so a family can move at the pace of the youngest. Food and drinks are not included there; SKY includes soft drinks and sweets on Level 148.
#4
Before you pay: the booking rules
Tickets are prepaid for a fixed date and time slot and cannot be refunded or changed once issued, so check both before paying. Bring a passport or ID, enter at the lower ground floor of The Dubai Mall, and allow time for the walk and the security check. There is no hotel transfer.
#5
Want the Burj in your photo? Sky Views
Every Burj Khalifa deck looks out from the tower, so the tower itself is never in your pictures. Sky Views Observatory next door, some 220 m up, keeps it in the frame and adds an optional Glass Slide. We book it on request, and a separate guide compares the two in detail.
Level 124 vs Level 148: the short answer
Levels 124 and 125 (Silver) start at $55; SKY Level 148 (Gold) starts at $115. Both are tickets for the same tower and the same entrance in The Dubai Mall, so the real question is what the extra $60 changes. It buys the highest deck, 555 m (1,821 ft) against more than 450 m on Levels 124 and 125, plus priority access and fast track, the Level 148 lounge and terrace with a multilingual host, and Arabic coffee, soft drinks and sweets. The visit starts on Level 148 for about 30 minutes, then continues on Levels 125 and 124, where you stay as long as you like.
Our view: for most visitors Levels 124 and 125 are enough. They give you floor-to-ceiling glass, telescopes, an outdoor terrace and no time limit, all more than 450 m up. Pay for SKY when the highest point is the reason for the trip, when you want priority access, or when a lounge and a host turn the visit into an occasion. Both are booked through us as one Burj Khalifa ticket: send the date, the time you want and the number of guests on WhatsApp, and we quote the exact price for your slot.
This guide is about the choice of deck. For the choice of hour, see the best time to visit Burj Khalifa.
Silver vs SKY side by side
The rows that decide most choices are the height, the time limit and what is included.
| Levels 124-125 (Silver) | Level 148 (SKY, Gold) | |
|---|---|---|
| Price from, per person | $55 | $115 |
| Height | More than 450 m | 555 m (1,821 ft) |
| Decks you visit | 124 and 125 | 148 first, then 125 and 124 |
| Time limit | None | About 30 minutes on Level 148; none on 125 and 124 |
| Entry | Timed entry | Priority access and fast track |
| Lounge and host | No | Level 148 lounge and terrace, multilingual host |
| Food and drink | Not included | Arabic coffee, soft drinks and sweets on Level 148 |
| Glass, telescopes, terrace, Wi-Fi | Yes, on 124 and 125 | Yes, on 125 and 124 after Level 148 |
| Slots | Every half hour | Limited; we confirm availability before you pay |
The from-prices are starting prices. Sunset and other prime-time slots cost more on both tickets, and we quote the exact price for your date and slot on WhatsApp. Both are prepaid, for a fixed slot, and cannot be refunded or changed once issued.
SKY does not replace the lower decks: after Level 148 the visit carries on to 125 and 124. Read it as the Silver visit with a timed visit to the top added in front.
What the extra $60 buys, item by item
Take the SKY ticket apart and four things are added to a Silver visit, plus a change of order.
- Height. Level 148 is 555 m up, against more than 450 m on Levels 124 and 125. It is the same view of Downtown and the coast, from higher above; on a clear day you see further.
- Priority access and fast track. The SKY ticket includes both at entry, which helps most when the slot is busy.
- A lounge and terrace on Level 148, with a multilingual host on hand.
- Arabic coffee, soft drinks and sweets on Level 148. On Levels 124 and 125 food and drinks are not included.
- Level 148 first, then the rest. After about 30 minutes on 148 you go down to 125 and 124 and keep everything in the Silver visit: the glass, the telescopes, the outdoor terrace and the free Wi-Fi.
What it does not buy is more time at the glass: on both tickets the time on Levels 125 and 124 is unlimited, and on SKY the time on Level 148 is limited to about 30 minutes (we confirm the current allowance when booking). Nor does it turn the visit into a guided tour: it is a ticket, with a host in the SKY lounge, and there is no hotel transfer.
Who should pay for SKY, and who is fine with 124-125
Put the price against what you will actually do up there.
- Fine with Levels 124-125: first-time visitors, families, and anyone who wants to stay as long as they like from $55. The view is the same city, the glass runs floor to ceiling and the clock is not running.
- Worth the premium for SKY: anyone for whom the highest deck is the point, such as an anniversary or a birthday; guests who prefer priority access to waiting; and anyone who would enjoy a lounge, a host and a coffee up there.
- A suggestion: spend the $60 on a second experience. At the from-prices, Silver plus the Old Dubai walking tour ($35) or an hour on the shared yacht ($32) costs less than SKY alone. If you would rather have two experiences than one higher one, that pairing may suit you better; if the top deck is the point, it will not.
- Prime time changes the arithmetic: sunset slots cost more on both tickets, so ask us for the Silver and SKY prices for the same slot before deciding.
A Levels 124-125 visit, step by step
Most guests spend 1.5-2 hours on Levels 124 and 125, not counting the walk through The Dubai Mall, the security check and the exhibition that come before the elevator. There is no time limit on the decks themselves.
- The Dubai Mall, lower ground floor. Make your own way to The Dubai Mall and follow the signs to the At the Top entrance. Show your e-ticket there.
- Security check and exhibition. A security check with metal detectors, then a moving walkway past a visual presentation of the tower's story.
- The elevator to Level 124. It climbs at 10 metres per second to floor-to-ceiling glass, telescopes and the outdoor terrace, with 360-degree views.
- Level 125. A staircase takes you one level up for more views.
- Stay as long as you like. There is no limit on either level, and free Wi-Fi at the top. Food and drinks are not included.
A SKY visit, step by step
A SKY ticket starts at the same entrance and changes at the top.
- The Dubai Mall, lower ground floor. You enter at the same At the Top entrance, with priority access and fast track.
- Level 148 first. The visit begins at 555 m, in the lounge and on the terrace, with a multilingual host and Arabic coffee, soft drinks and sweets.
- About 30 minutes up there. Time on Level 148 is limited, and we confirm the current allowance when we book.
- Then Levels 125 and 124. From here it is the Silver visit: the glass, the telescopes, the outdoor terrace, and as long as you like.
- The slot decides the light. Because the timed part comes first, the hour you book decides what your 30 minutes on Level 148 look like: daylight about an hour before sunset, or the sunset itself closer to it. Tell us which you want when you ask.
Sunset and prime-time slots: how the price changes
The from-prices are starting points, not a fixed rate card. Sunset and other prime-time slots cost more than off-peak ones, on both tickets, and the price depends on the date and the time, so we quote the exact price for your slot on WhatsApp rather than print a number that would fit only some of them.
Ask for Silver and SKY in the same slot. At a prime-time slot that pair is the number to compare, not the gap between the two from-prices. To get both prices, send us:
- The date and the time you would like, or 'around sunset'.
- How many guests, and the ages of any children.
- Whether you want Silver, SKY, or both prices side by side.
Which hour is worth a premium is a separate question. The short version: book about an hour before sunset, because with no time limit on 124 and 125 one ticket shows the city by day, at sunset and lit up after dark; on SKY, the first 30 minutes on Level 148 are the daylight part. The best time to visit Burj Khalifa has the sunset times and the slot to ask for in each month.
Booking rules for both tickets: slot, ID, entrance and children
The rules are the same for Silver and SKY.
- Fixed slot, prepaid, final. Full prepayment is needed. Tickets are issued for a fixed date and time slot and cannot be refunded or changed once issued, so check the date and time before you pay.
- Passport or ID. Bring one: the name on the booking may be checked at entry.
- Entrance in The Dubai Mall. Follow the signs to the At the Top entrance on the lower ground floor. There is no hotel transfer, so make your own way: the Marina to Burj Khalifa route guide and the Downtown Dubai area guide cover getting there. Allow time for the walk through the mall and the security check before your slot.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tell us their ages on WhatsApp and we quote the right tickets.
- Food and drinks are not included on Levels 124 and 125; SKY includes Arabic coffee, soft drinks and sweets on Level 148.
Booking is a message on WhatsApp with the date, the time and the number of guests. We book the slot and send the e-tickets there; the Burj Khalifa tickets page has the details. We also book Sky Views Observatory, The View at The Palm and Dubai Frame on request: Burj Khalifa vs Sky Views compares the Burj with its neighbour, and the best views in Dubai lists the other decks.
