Four rooftops and terraces we could check

ZETA Seventy Seven #1
Address Beach Resort, JBR; 77th floor A high view of Ain Dubai, Bluewaters and the Palm

ZETA Seventy Seven

The hotel's page puts it on the 77th floor, about 294 metres up, with views of Ain Dubai, Bluewaters Island and Palm Jumeirah. The menu is Asian fusion with sushi and seafood, and an electronic hubbly bubbly service is listed for the evening. The dress code is smart casual. The page recommends reservations, its FAQ says they are required, and a minimum spend may apply.

Cé La Vi #2
Address Sky View, Downtown; Level 54 A late night with Downtown below you

Cé La Vi

The hotel lists Cé La Vi on Level 54, about 220 metres above sea level, with contemporary Asian food, a SkyBar, a club lounge and a pool deck. Opening hours are 12 PM to 3 AM, which makes it the latest venue we could verify. The dress code is smart casual. The page does not state an age rule or a minimum spend, so ask when you book by phone or email.

Alto 54 #3
Address Sky View, Downtown; Level 54 rooftop A drink by the pool at sunset

Alto 54

A rooftop pool lounge in the same hotel. Food and drink service runs from 10 AM to 11 PM, shisha from 3 PM to 11 PM, and the pool from 9 AM to 8 PM, or until 10 PM in summer. The dress code is casual before sunset and smart casual after it. The hotel also lists a sunset event, Alto Sunset Beats, from 5 PM to 9 PM, so ask which evening suits you.

Luma Pool Lounge #4
Address Creek Harbour; poolside terrace An early drink with creek views and happy hour

Luma Pool Lounge

A poolside venue rather than a high rooftop, listed with seating around the infinity pool and creek views. Drinks are served from 10 AM to 1 AM, and a happy hour runs daily from 3 PM to 7 PM, according to the hotel. The dress code is casual before sunset and smart casual after it. The nearby Fai Lounge, a rooftop on Level 9 of Palace Dubai Creek Harbour, was listed as temporarily closed on 2 November 2026.

Rooftop bars in Dubai: the short answer

Rooftop bars in Dubai are inside licensed hotels, and you must be 21 to drink. Carry your passport, dress smart casual and book a table before sunset, because the best seats go first. The venues we could verify list their hours and dress codes on their own pages, but not their drink prices, so ask for a menu when you book.

This guide is short on purpose. We read the hotels' own pages on 2 November 2026 and list only what they state. We do not run bars, and we do not list venues whose pages we could not read, so this is a checked shortlist and not a ranking of the whole city. Hours, dress code and rules, venue by venue

The table repeats what each hotel's page says. Hours change by season and by event, so check before you go.

One warning: ZETA's page gives two sets of hours. The main text lists dinner from 8:30 PM, and the FAQ lists dinner from 6 PM, so confirm the time for your date when you reserve. For the shisha service at these venues and the rules around it, read shisha in Dubai: rules and lounges.

Age, ID and the rules on every rooftop

The legal drinking age is 21, and venues check ID, so a passport is the safe document for a visitor. Alcohol is served only in licensed venues such as hotels, and being drunk in a public place is an offence, which includes the lobby and the taxi home. Our alcohol laws guide covers the rules in full.

Some rooftops accept younger guests earlier in the day. ZETA's page says guests of all ages are welcome until 11:30 AM and only guests of 16 and over after that. That helps a family that wants the view at lunch, but it does not change the drinking age: nobody under 21 can drink, at any hour.

During Ramadan, hotels still serve alcohol, usually from the evening, and some bars shorten their hours. Live music and loud entertainment are reduced. Ramadan in Dubai for tourists explains what changes.

Dress code, booking and the best time to go

Dress smart casual: a shirt or dress, smart shoes or sandals, and no beachwear or flip-flops. The pool-side venues relax this before sunset and tighten it after. The Dubai dress code guide has the place-by-place version.

Book ahead for sunset. In December the sun sets at about 5:30 PM, and in June at about 7:10 PM, so a winter sunset table starts early. Ask for the terrace, say if it is an occasion and arrive 20 minutes before your time. From November to March the open-air terraces are comfortable. In summer the terraces are too hot at midday, so go after dark.

What a rooftop evening costs

We could not find drink prices on the venue pages, so we do not quote any for these bars. For scale, our prices guide lists a drink in a licensed hotel bar at about AED 40 to 70 ($11 to $19) and a restaurant beer at about AED 50 ($14). A rooftop can charge more, and ZETA's page says a minimum spend may apply, so ask what it is before you book. Check before you go: menus and offers change.

Check the tax line as well. Address Hotels states on its pool-pass page that its prices include a 10% service charge, a 7% municipality fee and 5% VAT. Ask whether a bar bill adds the same amounts on top of the menu price.

The view without the bar

If you do not drink, or want the view for less, there are other ways. A Burj Khalifa ticket is from $55 per person for Levels 124 and 125, and the SKY ticket, from $115, adds Level 148 with a lounge, a host and drinks. The AURA Skypool guide covers a rooftop pool in the Palm Tower.

For a night out on the water, our Marina yacht party is $99 per person, for guests of 21 and over, from 9 PM to 1 AM with a live DJ and a BBQ. The shared 1-hour yacht tour is from $32 and suits families and couples who want the Marina skyline at sunset.

FAQ

What is the legal drinking age at Dubai rooftop bars?

The legal drinking age is 21. Venues check ID, so carry your passport. Alcohol is served only in licensed venues, mostly hotels, and being drunk in a public place is an offence.

What should I wear to a rooftop bar in Dubai?

Smart casual. ZETA Seventy Seven's page says beachwear, flip-flops and overly casual clothes are discouraged. Alto 54 and Luma Pool Lounge list casual dress before sunset and smart casual after sunset.

Do Dubai rooftop bars have a minimum spend?

Some do. ZETA Seventy Seven's page says a minimum spend may apply and can vary by reservation type. The pages for Cé La Vi and Alto 54 do not state one, so ask when you book.

Can I go to a rooftop bar if I do not drink?

Yes. These venues are restaurants and lounges as well as bars, and their pages list food service. ZETA admits guests of all ages until 11:30 AM and guests of 16 and over after that, so a family can use it at lunch.

What is the best time to visit a rooftop bar in Dubai?

Arrive before sunset, which is about 5:30 PM in December and about 7:10 PM in June, and book ahead. From November to March the open-air terraces are comfortable. In summer, go after dark.

Do I need to reserve a table at a rooftop bar?

It is wise. ZETA Seventy Seven's FAQ says reservations are required. Cé La Vi lists a phone number and an email, and the Fai Lounge page advises early reservations for evenings. Without a booking, you may not get a table at sunset.

Are rooftop bars open during Ramadan?

Hotel bars and licensed restaurants still serve, usually from the evening, but some shorten their hours and loud music is reduced. Ramadan 2027 is expected to start on Monday 8 February, subject to the moon sighting, so check each venue.
