Abu Dhabi City Tour from Dubai — From $45 per person

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi has six lands and more than 30 rides, with no age limit, only height rules: about 80 cm gets a child onto the gentlest rides and 120 cm opens most of the big ones. It is indoor and air-conditioned, so it works in any month. Allow a full day of 6-8 hours and budget from about AED 345 per adult online. From Dubai it is about 1.5 hours each way, or free on the Yas Express shuttle with an e-ticket. Our Abu Dhabi city tour is a different day, and it does not include park entry.

How long do you need at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi?

A full day, about 6-8 hours inside the park. It has six lands, more than 30 rides and 22 shops, and families with young children are usually done by late afternoon. Add about 3 hours on the road from Dubai, and check the day's opening hours on the park's site. Single-day tickets start from about AED 345 online.

Warner Bros. World plus one: what to pair it with on Yas Island

Nothing else: the full-day plan #1
Yas Island; lunch at the park or at Yas Mall Families with children under 10

Nothing else: the full-day plan

The honest default is one park and nothing else. With more than 30 rides, character meet-and-greets, live shows and 20 places to eat, most families fill the whole opening day, and the children are done by late afternoon. Keep Yas Mall, with its food court and air conditioning, as the fallback for a break or an early finish.

Ferrari World on another day #2
Yas Island, a few minutes away; a separate ticket Teenagers and thrill-seekers

Ferrari World on another day

Ferrari World is the other indoor park on the island, with the fastest launch coaster and a lot more speed than Warner Bros. World. If your group splits between small children and teenagers, give each park its own day, or pick one with our head-to-head guide. A two-park day exists on paper but means rushing the second.

SeaWorld for a calmer second day #3
Yas Island; indoor, same operator Under-fives, grandparents, animal lovers

SeaWorld for a calmer second day

SeaWorld Yas Island suits the youngest children and the slower walkers in your group: it is indoor, cool and built around animals rather than rides. It makes a gentle second day after Warner Bros. World, and the island runs free shuttle buses to each park, so there is no extra transport puzzle.

Yas Waterworld in the cooler months #4
Yas Island; outdoor, a separate ticket Families who want water, November to April

Yas Waterworld in the cooler months

An outdoor waterpark with slides for every height, from a lazy river with no minimum to steep drops from 120 cm. Warner Bros. World is the park for hot months and Yas Waterworld the one for the cooler ones, so most families do not need both in the same week unless the children are swimmers.

The Abu Dhabi city day #5
Grand Mosque, BAPS Mandir, Corniche; 9 hours from Dubai Adults and older children who want the capital

The Abu Dhabi city day

A theme park and the Grand Mosque do not belong in one day. Do the capital with our guided shared tour from $45, which gives the Ferrari World photo stop and lunch at Yas Mall, and give Warner Bros. World a day of its own, ideally on a weekday outside school holidays.

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi in one minute

Six lands, more than 30 rides, one big indoor building. Warner Bros. World sits on Yas Island, is fully air-conditioned and open all year, and is built around Warner Bros. and DC characters: Batman and Superman on one side, Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry and Scooby-Doo on the other, and the Flintstones in Bedrock. By the park's own count there are more than 60 rides, experiences and live characters in all. It says there is no age limit for any ride, only height limits.

Who it suits: children of about 4-12 are the sweet spot. Most of Cartoon Junction opens from 80-105 cm, and the DC thrill rides start at 105-120 cm. Teenagers and adults who grew up with the characters enjoy it too, but coaster fans who want extremes get more from Ferrari World, which has its own head-to-head guide. Toddlers can come: under-3s are admitted free, and a few rides need only 80 cm.

How long: a full day, about 6-8 hours, and a weekday outside school holidays if you can choose. From Dubai it is about 1.5 hours each way by road, so the whole thing is a 9-11 hour day door to door. Tickets start from about AED 345 per adult online, and every figure here is worth checking on the park's official site for your date, because prices change by season.

The six lands and what is in each

The park is laid out as six themed lands. The ride names and minimum heights below come from the park's own ride pages; limits can change and are posted at each ride, so treat them as a planning guide. The park's website also mentions Harry Potter-themed lands in development. We describe only the six lands the site lists as the park today, and you should check the site for anything added since.

Dynamite GulchA cartoon version of the American Southwest desertFast and Furry-ous inverted coaster (110 cm); Marvin the Martian Crater Crashers (105 cm)Ages 6-12
BedrockThe Flintstones' townThe Flintstones Bedrock River Adventure (100 cm with an adult, 130 cm alone); prayer rooms are here and nursing rooms are nearbyFamilies with mixed ages

Minimum heights from the park's ride pages; they can change, so check the posted limit at the ride. Ride closures for maintenance are normal in any theme park.

Two practical points. Heights, not ages, decide the day, so measure the children before you arrive and tell them which rides they will miss. And the DC rides are the ones with the queues, so go to them first and keep Cartoon Junction for the afternoon.

Ages and height rules: what each child can ride

The park says there is no age limit for anyone who wants to experience its rides and attractions; the limit is height. As a rule of thumb from the park's guidance, many rides suit children of at least 80 cm, which covers most children aged nine and under. Here is how that plays out:

  • Under 3, or about 80-90 cm: free entry for under-3s (staff may ask for ID). The carousel needs 80 cm, Tweety Wild Wockets and Ricochet Racin' with Taz 90 cm, and the ACME Factory climbing area has no minimum.
  • About 100-110 cm (age 4-6): the Flintstones river ride with an adult, Joker Funhouse, Tom and Jerry: Swiss Cheese Spin, Marvin the Martian Crater Crashers and Green Lantern: Galactic Odyssey, a 4-D flying theatre, all at 105 cm. Fast and Furry-ous starts at 110 cm.
  • About 120 cm and above (age 7-9): Batman: Knight Flight and The Riddler Revolution open up, and Teen Titans Training Academy, an obstacle course, needs about 122 cm.
  • Teenagers and adults: nearly everything is open, including Kryptonite Collider (105 cm minimum, and a maximum height of 195 cm and weight of 136 kg listed by the park) and Justice League: Warworld Attacks.
  • Ticket price tiers: the park prices junior tickets by height, with a lower price for children under 1.1 m. Seniors aged 60 and over get a discount at the ticketing plaza with proof of age.

Strollers can be rented at the park entrance, lockers are available throughout the park, and the park is smoke-free. If anyone in your group has a health condition, pregnancy or a fear of heights, the park publishes lists of gentler rides, and the Flintstones river ride and the carousel are the calm end of the range.

How long to allow, and a day plan

Allow a full day, 6-8 hours inside the gates. The park posts its opening hours on its website each day (look for the 'Open today' line), and they vary by season and by weekday, so check before you set the alarm. Here is a plan that works for a family with children between 5 and 10:

  • First two hours: the headline rides while the queues are short, so Gotham City and Metropolis first for the older children, then the Dynamite Gulch coaster.
  • Midday: lunch inside the park. There are about 20 places to eat, from snacks to sit-down meals, so budget for food on top of the ticket.
  • Early afternoon: Cartoon Junction and Bedrock, the gentler rides, when the youngest children flag.
  • Last hour: the shops, 22 outlets by the park's count, and a final ride you missed. Leave before the closing crowd so the shuttle or taxi queue is shorter.
  • Paid shortcut: the park sells Quick Pass upgrades that shorten queues. They are worth a look on a weekend or holiday and not needed on a quiet weekday.

Tickets, prices and what saves money

The park's own site lists a single-day ticket at about AED 345 online for an adult, with gate prices of about AED 360-380 depending on the season. Buying online saves up to about 10%. These are the figures we saw, and they move with the calendar, so confirm the price for your date on the official site before you plan the budget.

If you travel from Dubai, the free shuttle described next is often the better value, because a taxi is about AED 250-350 each way.

Getting there from Dubai

The park's site puts Yas Island about 50 minutes from Dubai; from Dubai Marina allow about 1.5 hours by road, longer at rush hour on Sheikh Zayed Road. The cheapest options are free or close to it, which makes this one of the easier park days to organise without a car.

Warner Bros. World, the other parks and our Abu Dhabi tour

Yas Island has four theme parks, and the choice depends on who is going. Ferrari World is for speed and teenagers, SeaWorld is for animals and small children, Yas Waterworld is for swimmers in the cooler months, and Warner Bros. World is for children who know the characters. The full island picture is in Yas Island from Dubai.

Where does our own tour fit? The Abu Dhabi city tour, from $45 per person with 8:00 AM hotel pickup, is the capital in nine hours: the Grand Mosque, the BAPS Mandir, the Corniche, Heritage Village, a Ferrari World photo stop and lunch at Yas Mall. It does not include park tickets, and there is no time for a park inside that loop, so we will tell you plainly if a park day is what you want. A private car for up to 7 people at $245 has a flexible schedule; ask on WhatsApp what fits.

If the week also needs something for the children in Dubai, the full-day desert safari from $45 and the 1-hour shared yacht tour from $32 are the easy ones, and Abu Dhabi with kids plans the family version of the whole capital day.

FAQ

How long do you need at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi?

A full day, about 6-8 hours inside the park. It has six lands, more than 30 rides and 22 shops, and families with young children are usually done by late afternoon. Add about 3 hours on the road from Dubai, and check the day's opening hours on the park's site. Single-day tickets start from about AED 345 online.

Is there an age limit at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi?

No. The park says there is no age limit for its rides; the limits are heights. Many rides take children from 80 cm, the carousel is 80 cm, Batman: Knight Flight is 120 cm, and children under 3 enter free. Heights are posted at each ride and can change.

Is Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi indoors?

Yes. It is fully air-conditioned and open all year, which is why it is the park to choose in summer, when afternoons outside run to 38-45 degrees. Bring a light layer if you feel the cold indoors.

How much are tickets for Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi?

The park's site lists a single-day adult ticket at about AED 345 online, with gate prices of about AED 360-380 depending on the season. Junior tickets are priced by height, under-3s are free and seniors aged 60 and over get a discount of about 10%. Check the official site for your date.

Can you go from Dubai to Warner Bros. World by shuttle?

Yes. The Yas Express runs free shuttle buses from Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman to Yas Island for guests with an e-ticket. Check the timetable and your pick-up point on the park's site; a taxi is about AED 250-350 each way if the times do not suit.

Can you do Warner Bros. World and Ferrari World in one day?

The parks sell a one-day ticket for any two Yas parks, so it is possible on paper. In practice each park is a full day, and the second one gets the tired last three hours, so we would not plan it with children under 10. Read the Ferrari World or Warner Bros. World guide to pick one.

Does the Abu Dhabi city tour include Warner Bros. World?

No. Our shared tour from $45 covers the Grand Mosque, the BAPS Mandir, the Corniche, Heritage Village, a Ferrari World photo stop and lunch at Yas Mall in nine hours. Park tickets are not included, and a park needs its own day.
