Parasailing in Dubai with us costs $99 for a solo flight or $179 for a tandem, two people side by side on one flight. You are in the air for 10-12 minutes, but the boat trip takes about an hour, because each trip carries 3-4 flights and everyone takes turns. Flyers must be 15 or older, with about 150 kg per flight, and nothing is asked of you beyond sitting in the harness: the crew runs the boat. The parasailing flight leaves from Umm Suqeim harbour next to the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, with the Burj Al Arab in view.

Your parasailing options at Umm Suqeim harbour
#1
Solo flight
One flyer under the canopy for 10-12 minutes, on a boat trip of about an hour shared with 3-4 flights in turn. The limit is about 150 kg per flight. Book it when you are travelling alone, when only one of you wants to fly, or when the two of you together are over the tandem weight.
#2
Tandem flight for two
Two flyers side by side under one canopy, for one price. It works out $19 cheaper than two solo flights, and you share the 10-12 minutes with someone you know, which helps if one of you is unsure about heights. The two flyers together must weigh about 150 kg or less, so send both weights when you book.
#3
Two solo flights
When a pair is over about 150 kg combined, two solo flights are the way to fly. Ask us to put you both on the same boat trip: one of you flies while the other waits on the deck and films. With no free photos on the parasailing boat, it is the simplest way to get footage of each other without renting a GoPro.
#4
The flight plus a jet ski
The jet ski to the Burj Al Arab leaves from the same harbour: 30 minutes behind an instructor, up to 2 riders per jet ski, drivers 16 and over, with free photos and videos. Activities at the base combine with a 30-minute break between them, so the flight and the ride fit into one visit. Afternoon jet ski slots cost more.
#5
The donut ride for the group
One inflatable tube towed behind a boat, up to four riders, one price for the whole tube: about $37 each when it is full. It is wet, bumpy and the opposite of the parasail's calm, which is exactly why the two work for a mixed group. Free photos and videos are included on the donut.
Parasailing in Dubai: the short answer
$99 solo, $179 for two flying together. That is the whole price list for the parasailing flight we book at the watersports base in Umm Suqeim harbour, and it covers 10-12 minutes in the air, about an hour on the boat and the safety briefing. The tow boat, the parasail and the harness are included. The one optional extra is a GoPro, because parasailing is the only activity at the base without free photos and videos.
It suits almost anyone aged 15 or over who wants the Jumeirah coast from the air without doing anything: you do not drive, steer or need experience, and the crew runs the boat. It suits less well anyone after an adrenaline rush or a long stretch on the water by themselves, because the flight is calm and lasts 10-12 minutes. For speed and handlebars, the jet ski is the better fit, and the jet ski vs parasailing vs flyboard comparison puts the three side by side if you are choosing between them.
Solo or tandem: what each costs per person
A tandem is two flyers side by side under one canopy on a single flight, priced at $179 for the pair. Split two ways that is $89.50 each against $99 for a solo, so a couple or two friends save $19 by flying together. The catch is weight: the limit is about 150 kg per flight, and for a tandem that means the two flyers combined.
| Option | Flyers | Price | Per person | Weight limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Solo flight | 1 | $99 | $99 | About 150 kg |
| Tandem flight | 2 on one flight | $179 | $89.50 | About 150 kg combined |
| Two solo flights | 2, one after the other | $198 | $99 | About 150 kg each |
Prices per flight: 10-12 minutes in the air, about 1 hour on the boat, safety briefing, tow boat, parasail and harness included. Every flyer must be 15 or older. A GoPro is extra: AED 150, subject to availability.
Send both weights when you book a tandem and we confirm with the base that the pair can fly together. If you are over the combined limit, two solo flights are the answer, $198 in all. Two solos also make sense when one of you wants to film the other: ask us for the same boat trip, and whoever is waiting has the whole flight in front of them from the deck.
For a nervous first-timer the tandem has an advantage no table shows: you are up there with someone you know, and you can talk to each other the whole way.
How the hour on the boat works
The 10-12 minutes and the hour are both true, and the difference catches people out. Each boat trip lasts about an hour and takes 3-4 flights in turn: while one flyer or tandem pair is up, the others sit on the boat and watch. With check-in, allow about 1.5 hours at the harbour in all.
- Check-in, 20 minutes before your slot. At Umm Suqeim Fishing Harbour (Fishing Harbour 2) on Jumeirah Road, with an original passport or Emirates ID for every flyer. Late arrivals fly only at the base's discretion.
- Safety briefing. The crew explains how the flight works and gives a few tips before the activity, in English, French or Arabic.
- Out onto the water. The boat leaves the harbour for the sea off Jumeirah, with the Burj Al Arab a few minutes away.
- Your flight. You are clipped into the harness, the boat tows you up, and you have 10-12 minutes in the air, solo or as a tandem.
- Back at the harbour. After about an hour on the water the boat returns. Lockers, changing rooms and showers are at the base.
Because of the turns, the hour is part of the outing rather than dead time: you are on a boat off the Jumeirah coast, watching the others go up and come down. If you have a plan straight after, count on the full 1.5 hours, not the flight time.
What parasailing feels like
Calm: of the five activities at the base, it is the one where you do the least. You sit in a harness under the canopy while the boat does all the work, with nothing to steer or balance, and the crew explains how the flight works before take-off. Once you are up, the boat is far below you and the main sound is the wind.
That is why parasailing is the pick for people who want the sea without the adrenaline: teenagers flying with a parent, couples, anyone nervous about driving a jet ski. Heights are the one real question. Being seated and strapped in feels different from standing at an edge, but if heights genuinely frighten you, fly tandem with someone you trust, or keep your feet on the deck and choose an activity at sea level instead.
Parasailing depends on the wind as well as the sea: if conditions are not safe on your day, we move the flight to another available slot, and if none fits your dates, we refund your payment in full.
The view: Jumeirah and the Burj Al Arab from above
The flight goes up off Umm Suqeim, so what you see is the Jumeirah coast: the wave-shaped Jumeirah Beach Hotel right next to the harbour, the Burj Al Arab a few minutes along the water, and the beaches of Umm Suqeim along the shore. From the harness you look down on the boats and the water rather than along it, which is the real difference from the same coast on a jet ski.
The Burj Al Arab is closed for restoration until about late 2027, with no fixed reopening date. It changes nothing for the flight: you see it from the outside, and its sail-shaped exterior stays in view. For the rest of the area, the beaches and Madinat Jumeirah, see the Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab area guide.
Photos and videos: come with a plan
Parasailing is the one activity at the base without free photos and videos. On the jet ski, flyboard, donut ride and wakeboard the team shoots you as part of the price; on the parasailing boat nobody does. A GoPro can be rented for AED 150, subject to availability, so ask for it when you book rather than on the day.
Anything that could fall during the flight, a hat or loose sunglasses, is safer left on the boat, and a phone held at arm's length in the air is the obvious risk. That leaves three practical options:
- Rent the GoPro (AED 150). The only way to get footage from the harness itself; book it together with the flight.
- Film each other from the deck. Book two solo flights on the same boat trip, and the one waiting films the one flying.
- Get your photos on another activity. Add the jet ski or the donut ride the same day and the team's free photos and videos cover that part of the visit; collect them by AirDrop or WhatsApp before you leave, because they are not kept after 24 hours.
Who can fly: age, weight and health
The rules are short. Flyers must be 15 or older, solo or tandem, so a family with younger children splits up: the parasail for the over-15s, and the donut ride from 12 or the jet ski as a passenger from 5 for the rest. The limit is about 150 kg per flight, combined for a tandem. Parasailing is not allowed during pregnancy, and no activity at the base takes children under 5.
Swimming is not on the base's list of requirements; those are age, weight and no pregnancy. If you are worried about the water, tell us when you book and we check with the base before you pay. The water sports age, weight and safety rules put the limits for all five activities on one page, which helps when a family is choosing together.
What to wear and when to go
Swimwear or light clothes you do not mind getting splashed, and sunscreen. Leave a hat or loose sunglasses on the boat, and valuables in the lockers at the base, where there are also changing rooms and showers. Every flyer needs an original passport or Emirates ID, the physical document: copies and photos on a phone are not accepted.
October to April is the comfortable season on the water in Dubai. From May to September it is hot, and the early slots are the coolest, so in the hot months book the first slot you can. Whatever the month, the flight runs only when wind and sea allow, so if parasailing is a must on a short trip, book it early in your stay to leave room for a new slot.
Adding a jet ski or donut ride, and how to book
The flight leaves from the same base as the other four activities, and they combine on one day with a 30-minute break between them. The natural pairing is the jet ski to the Burj Al Arab: $99 for your flight plus from $79 for 30 minutes on a jet ski for up to 2 riders, drivers 16 and over, with afternoon jet ski slots costing more. That is the same coast from above and from sea level in one visit, and the jet ski comes with free photos.
For a group, the donut ride is the counterweight: $149 for one tube with up to 4 riders aged 12 and over, 30 minutes of being towed and splashed. If some of your group want calm and others want chaos, that is the combination. If you are still choosing, the water sports in Dubai guide covers all five activities at the base.
To book, message us on WhatsApp with the date, solo or tandem and, for a tandem, both weights. We agree the time, full prepayment confirms the slot, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the flight. There is no hotel pickup: take a taxi to Umm Suqeim Fishing Harbour 2 on Jumeirah Road, next to the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and not at JBR; we send the exact pin after booking. Then book the parasailing flight.

It is the calmest of the five activities at the base: you sit in a harness, the crew runs the boat and your only job is to look around. Flights run only when wind and sea conditions are safe; otherwise we move you to another slot or refund in full. If heights worry you, fly tandem with someone you trust.
Do I need to be able to swim?
Swimming is not on the base's list of requirements: those are age (15+), weight (about 150 kg per flight) and no pregnancy. If you are worried about the water, tell us when booking and we check with the base before you pay.
Are photos and videos included?
No. Parasailing is the one activity at the base without free photos and videos. A GoPro can be rented for AED 150, subject to availability, so ask when booking. The jet ski, flyboard, donut ride and wakeboarding all include free photos and videos.
