Legoland Dubai is built for children aged 2 to 12: 40+ rides and attractions, a ticket of AED 295 booked online at least a day ahead (AED 330 at the gate), and a separate Water Park that needs its own ticket or a combo. Under-3s enter free, adults pay the full price, and the biggest ride, The Dragon, needs 1.2 m. This guide covers the lands, height limits, family costs, the Water Park, heat and how to reach it from the Marina or by Metro.

How much is Legoland Dubai?
The theme park is AED 295 per person when booked online at least a day ahead, and AED 330 at the gate. The Water Park is the same price, and the combo is AED 355 online or AED 395 at the gate. Children under 3 enter free with proof of age.

Five ways to plan around Legoland
#1
Motiongate, in the same complex
Motiongate is the next-door park with DreamWorks, Lionsgate and Smurfs zones, and it needs its own ticket. It suits slightly older children than Legoland and has more thrills. Our Motiongate guide explains the zones and the heat.
#2
IMG Worlds for older siblings
If one child has outgrown Legoland, IMG Worlds is fully indoors, with Marvel, Cartoon Network and dinosaur zones. Its rides start at 0.9 m, but the big ones want 1.25 to 1.4 m. See the IMG Worlds guide for the height list.
#3
A bigger waterpark for older children
Legoland's Water Park is designed for ages 2 to 12. Teenagers and taller children will want bigger slides, which is what Aquaventure and Wild Wadi offer, at higher ticket prices. Our comparison of the two helps you choose.
#4
Metro to Ibn Battuta, then the DPR1 bus
Legoland's own directions say to take the Metro to Ibn Battuta and connect to RTA route DPR1, which runs 26 daily trips from about 7:00 AM to 11:15 PM. With strollers and tired children, a taxi back is the practical backup.
#5
A camel ride on another day
A desert safari is the natural second day: dune bashing, a camel ride, sandboarding and a camp dinner. It is not recommended for infants under 3, so younger siblings may need a different plan for that evening.
Legoland Dubai in one minute
Legoland Dubai is a theme park designed for children aged 2 to 12, with 40+ rides, shows and attractions, and tickets from AED 295 when booked online at least a day ahead. At the gate the same ticket is AED 330. The park sits in Dubai Parks and Resorts, about 20 minutes by car from Dubai Marina. Children under 3 enter free with proof of age, children under 13 must be with an adult over 18, and adults pay the same as children.
It is the best Dubai park for small children and a poor choice for teenagers, who will be bored by the pace and the height of the rides. If your children are mostly over 1.2 m and want thrills, IMG Worlds or Motiongate fit better. If you are choosing between the parks, the best theme parks in Dubai ranks them by age and season.
Tickets and what a family pays
The park and the Water Park are separate, and each needs its own ticket or a combo. These are the prices on Legoland's official ticket pages. The online price needs booking at least one day in advance; the higher figure is the gate price.
| Ticket | Online, per person | Gate, per person | Family of four, online |
|---|---|---|---|
| Theme Park | AED 295 | AED 330 | AED 1,180 |
| Water Park | AED 295 | AED 330 | AED 1,180 |
| Theme Park + Water Park combo | AED 355 | AED 395 | AED 1,420 |
From Legoland's ticket pages; children under 3 enter free with ID. Check the official site for the current price, because offers and dates change.
Two points stand out. Booking online a day ahead saves AED 35 a person, which is AED 140 for a family of four. And because adults pay in full, a day with one child costs two full tickets; the park is better value for two or three children. Legoland's own FAQ advises allowing a full day to cover the park and the Water Park together, so the combo suits a long day, not a quick one.
The lands and the height limits
The park is divided into six lands, and the minimum heights are low compared with other Dubai parks. These come from Legoland's height list, with only The Dragon reaching 1.2 m.
| Land | What is there | Heights |
|---|---|---|
| Factory | The Factory Tour, a free brick souvenir, the largest Lego shop in the Middle East, stroller rental | No limit |
| Miniland | Dubai's skyline and Middle Eastern landmarks built from 20 million bricks, indoors in the air-conditioning; a 10 m Build A City table | No limit |
| LEGO City | Driving School, Junior Driving School (ages 3-5), Rescue Academy, City Airport, Boating School | Boating School from age 1; Driving School 110 cm; most others 95 cm |
| Kingdoms | The Dragon roller coaster, Merlin's Challenge, Merlin's Flying Machine, Dragon's Apprentice | The Dragon 120 cm; others 105 cm |
| Imagination | LEGO Studios 4D, LEGO Technic Twister, Kid Power Towers, DUPLO Valley, DUPLO Express, building zones | DUPLO Express 80 cm; Kid Power Towers 95 cm; Technic Twister 105 cm |
| Adventure | Lost Kingdom Adventure, Wave Racers, Submarine Adventure, Beetle Bounce, Pharaoh's Revenge play area | Submarine Adventure 80 cm; Lost Kingdom 90 cm; Wave Racers and Beetle Bounce 105 cm |
Dragon's Apprentice was closed for annual maintenance when we checked; rides close at times, so see the park's operational updates before you go.
At 80 to 95 cm, a small child can already do a good number of rides. Measure children at the gate rather than guessing, because a ride that needs 105 cm will turn away a child at 100 cm. The Dragon at 120 cm is the one a seven-year-old will measure themselves against.
Best ages, and who should skip it
Legoland is designed for ages 2 to 12. Within that range:
- Under 3: free entry and a calm day. Boating School accepts age 1 and up, DUPLO Valley is a shaded play area for toddlers, and Miniland has no limits and is air-conditioned.
- Ages 3 to 5: the sweet spot. Junior Driving School is for 3 to 5, and most rides start at 80 to 95 cm.
- Ages 6 to 9: the full park, with Driving School at 110 cm and the Kingdoms rides at 105 cm, and the building zones for children who love bricks.
- Ages 10 to 12: The Dragon and the Technic Twister, but expect to finish in a few hours unless your child is a genuine fan.
- Teenagers: skip. Choose IMG Worlds or Aquaventure instead, or a quad bike safari from age 16.
- Adults: you can ride with children, but a group of two adults and one child is poor value.
The Water Park: what it is and when it is open
Legoland Water Park has 20+ slides and attractions and describes itself as the only water park in the UAE designed especially for children aged 2 to 12. The attractions include the Joker Soaker, DUPLO Splash Safari and a build-your-own raft area, and towels can be rented at the park. Private cabanas are available.
It does not open every day. When we checked at the end of October, it was closed on Wednesdays, with 10:00 to 17:30 hours on open days, while the theme park ran 11:00 to 19:00. Hours change by season, so check the opening hours page before you pick a day. For children over 1.2 m who want real slides, see Aquaventure vs Wild Wadi and the best water parks in Dubai.
How long to stay, and the heat
A first visit with young children takes most of a day; on the day we checked the park opened at 11:00 and closed at 19:00. Legoland says the park is a mix of indoor and outdoor attractions that works year-round, with shaded areas and an air-conditioned Miniland. In practice, Miniland, LEGO Studios 4D and the building zones are your midday break, and the outdoor rides belong at the start and end of the day.
From November to March the weather is easy, and the park is at its best. From May to September, arrive at opening, take a long indoor break at midday, and put the Water Park on a second day if you want it. Our guide to Dubai with kids shows how to pace a family week, and the summer guide covers the hottest months.
As of 29 October, Legoland's website says its Halloween events run until 8 November, and listing sites report that the UNTOLD music festival takes place at Dubai Parks and Resorts from 5 to 8 November. If you travel in that window, check how the days affect hours, parking and crowds.
Getting to Legoland and the best-value second day
Legoland is in Dubai Parks and Resorts, Jebel Ali South, off Sheikh Zayed Road (E11). By car, its directions give about 20 minutes from Dubai Marina, 25 from Palm Jumeirah, 35 from Downtown, 45 from Dubai International Airport and about 60 from Abu Dhabi. Parking is available at the complex. By Metro, take the Red Line to Ibn Battuta and connect to RTA route DPR1, which runs 26 trips a day from about 7:00 AM to 11:15 PM. See the Metro guide for Nol cards.
Legoland pairs well with a very different second day. The full-day desert safari is from $45 per person, takes 7 hours, and collects you from your hotel in Dubai, Sharjah or Ajman in an air-conditioned 4x4. It includes dune bashing, sandboarding, a camel ride and a BBQ dinner with shows, and you pay on the day with no prepayment. It is not recommended for infants under 3, so check ages first; the desert safari with kids guide covers the details.
For a gentler water day, the 1-hour shared yacht tour from $32 welcomes children under adult supervision, and older children can ride a jet ski to the Burj Al Arab from $79 per jet ski: drivers must be 16 or older and passengers at least 5. The best things to do with kids lists the rest.
FAQ
How much is Legoland Dubai?
The theme park is AED 295 per person when booked online at least a day ahead, and AED 330 at the gate. The Water Park is the same price, and the combo is AED 355 online or AED 395 at the gate. Children under 3 enter free with proof of age.
What age is Legoland Dubai for?
It is designed for ages 2 to 12. Children from about 3 to 9 get the most from it, and many rides start at 80 to 95 cm. Teenagers will find it too gentle.
Is the Water Park included in the Legoland ticket?
No. The theme park and the Water Park are separate parks with their own tickets, and a combo ticket covers both. The Water Park is closed on some days, so check the opening hours page.
How tall do you need to be for The Dragon?
The Dragon roller coaster has a minimum height of 120 cm. Other Kingdoms rides need 105 cm, and many rides in other lands start at 80 to 95 cm.
How long do you need at Legoland Dubai?
Most of a day for the theme park alone. Legoland's FAQ suggests allowing one full day to visit the park and the Water Park together, but with young children two separate days is calmer.
How do I get to Legoland from Dubai Marina?
About 20 minutes by car, according to Legoland's directions. By public transport, take the Metro to Ibn Battuta and connect to RTA route DPR1. Check the last bus back, and keep a taxi as the backup.
Is Legoland Dubai indoors or outdoors?
A mix of both. Miniland is indoors and air-conditioned, and many shows, building zones and some rides are indoors too; the rest is outdoors with shaded areas. The best months are November to March.
