What to see and how to get there
#1
The rugby: HSBC SVNS and the invitational tournament
Dubai is the opening leg of the 2026/27 HSBC SVNS season, and the official site says it has opened the series since 1999. Eight men's and eight women's teams play on Saturday and Sunday, with the finals from 7:35 PM on Sunday. The invitational tournament runs on eight fields over three days with 17 divisions, so Friday is a low-cost day of amateur rugby.
#2
By taxi or ride-hailing
The official travel page lists drive times of 28 minutes from Dubai Airport, 29 from Business Bay and 35 from Dubai Marina. RTA taxis drop off at a taxi queue, and Careem and Uber follow the Drop Off and Pick Up signs near the main entrance. Plan your return before you go.
#3
Free evening shuttle buses
The travel page describes free shuttle buses on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 PM to 1:30 AM, every 15 minutes, to DMCC Metro in JLT, Financial Centre Metro in DIFC, Sports City and Studio City. The info page says route details for this edition will be posted closer to the event, so check them first. The buses start at 7 PM, so they do not help for daytime matches.
#4
A night on the water before or after
Our Marina yacht party is a four-hour night cruise from 9 PM to 1 AM, with boarding at 8:30 PM, a live DJ and a live BBQ, for $99 per person. It does not fit on the same evening as a festival day, because the stadium is about 35 minutes from the Marina, so choose the night before or after.
Emirates Dubai Rugby Sevens 2026: the short answer
The Emirates Dubai 7s is on from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 November 2026 at The Sevens Stadium, which is on the E66 Dubai Al Ain road, according to the official event site. Tickets are on sale. The HSBC SVNS tournament, the part with the top international teams, takes place on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November. Friday has the invitational rugby and a much cheaper ticket.
A single Friday ticket is AED 75, and a single Saturday or Sunday ticket is AED 455. A three-day general admission pass is AED 595. The Saturday and Sunday single tickets together cost AED 910, so the pass is the better price if you go on both weekend days. Children under 15 enter free on Friday. Prices and details are as listed on the official site on 2 November 2026; check before you buy, because sales and limits change.
The weekend day by day
The table combines the official ticket page, the HSBC SVNS schedule news item published on 26 October 2026 and the music page. The main-stage music dates on the official page were inconsistent, so we list only the DJ stage.
| Day | What is on | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Friday 27 November | Invitational rugby; general admission only | Single ticket AED 75; under 15s free |
| Saturday 28 November | HSBC SVNS pool matches for men and women; fancy dress contest | Single ticket AED 455; Jax Jones at the Beats on 2 DJ stage |
| Sunday 29 November | HSBC SVNS play-offs, semi-finals and finals; trophy presentation | Single ticket AED 455; limited availability for single-day tickets; finals from 7:35 PM; Melanie C DJ set |
As of 2 November 2026. Times and line-ups may change; check the official event app.
The organisers say the schedule for the HSBC SVNS matches is live on the official site. The opening matches on Saturday include South Africa against Argentina in the men's competition at 11:52 AM and New Zealand against Fiji at 12:36 PM. In the women's competition, USA play Spain at 10:00 AM and New Zealand play Japan at 11:06 AM. The news item did not state the day for the women's matches, so check the schedule page.
Tickets and prices
The official ticket page lists these prices in dirhams. All were on the page on 2 November 2026. The site does not list a closing date for sales, and tickets are not refundable unless the event is cancelled.
| Ticket | Days | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Friday single day | Fri 27 Nov | AED 75 |
| Saturday single day | Sat 28 Nov | AED 455 |
| Sunday single day | Sun 29 Nov | AED 455 |

| Weekend Reserved Premium | Friday general admission, Saturday and Sunday seating | AED 825 |
| Beats on 2 Fast Pass or VIP | Saturday and Sunday; needs an entry ticket | AED 275 or AED 550 a day |
Hospitality packages (the Sunroom) start from AED 1,925 a day. A group rate of AED 446 is listed for six or more adults on the 3-Day pass, in limited numbers.
General admission covers everything except the VIP, hospitality and reserved seating areas, and seating there is first come, first served. Reserved Premium is in bays 3 and 5 and Reserved Standard in bays 1, 2, 6 and 7. For children, the FAQ lists AED 115 for ages 10 to 14 and AED 40 for ages 4 to 9 for the weekend, and children under 4 are free with registration. Check the ticket page for how the child price applies to your days. Tickets are digital and live in the official app.
What the weekend is like
It is a festival that has rugby in it, not only a rugby match. The stadium site has several areas: Beats on 2 for live DJs, Backyard with country music and line-dancing, Rugby Rocks with live bands, The Village with a silent disco and a market, and a quieter Cricket Zone that the organisers call good for the whole family. Fancy dress is encouraged. The official theme for this year is Around the World, announced on 27 October, and the Saturday contest has a grand prize.
Families are catered for. The official kids page lists a soft play tent for ages 0 to 3, an outdoor kids' zone for ages 4 to 16 with what it calls the biggest inflatable park in the UAE, and an open-air cinema from 6 PM to 9 PM. The kids' area runs from 10 AM to 6 PM. The honest downside is size: the organisers expect more than 80,000 fans over the two tournament days, so allow time for queues at bars, food stalls and the exits.
Rules at the gate
These come from the official info and FAQ pages. Read them again on the day of your visit.
- Digital tickets only. Printed tickets and screenshots do not scan. Use the official app.
- Last entry is 8 PM, and there is no re-entry after 9 PM. You can leave and come back earlier in the day with your digital ticket.
- Bags: backpacks are allowed but are scanned, and there are no lockers.
- Food and drink: outside food and drink are not allowed, except baby food. Free water stations are placed around the site.
- Alcohol: you need ID to buy it. Our alcohol laws guide explains the general rules in Dubai.
- Dogs: only service dogs are allowed.
We could not find gate opening times on the official pages, so check the app for the day you plan to go.
Getting to The Sevens Stadium
The stadium is outside central Dubai, on the E66 Dubai Al Ain road. The organisers list 28 minutes by road from Dubai Airport, 29 from Business Bay, 35 from Dubai Marina and 27 from Jebel Ali.
By car, the travel page lists about 15,000 parking spaces on site for ticket holders, and the info page says public parking is free. If you rent a car, our guide to Salik tolls, parking and fines explains what to expect. By taxi, the drop-off and pick-up points are separate from the buses, so follow the signs. Our taxi and Careem guide compares RTA taxis and the apps. For the Metro, the free evening shuttles go to DMCC Metro and Financial Centre Metro; see our Dubai Metro guide for the lines. The travel page lists a shuttle every 15 minutes from 7 PM, and the 2026 routes are due to be posted closer to the event.
Fitting the weekend into a Dubai trip
The festival falls on the last weekend of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which closes on 29 November, and a few days before UAE National Day and the start of the Dubai Shopping Festival on 4 December. Our what's on in Dubai in November and December guides put the dates side by side. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix follows in early December, with the race on Sunday 6 December; see our Grand Prix guide if you are combining the two.
Give the Friday or the Monday to something else. Our full-day desert safari is from $45 per person, about 7 hours, with hotel pickup, and the Marina speedboat tour is from $45 per person for 90 minutes. The Marina yacht party is for guests aged 21 and over, and it boards at 8:30 PM, so pick a night when you are not at the stadium.
