Five places for Eid evenings in Dubai

Global Village #1
Season 31, open from 14 October 2026 to May 2027 Nightly fireworks in earlier years, food and shows

Global Village

At an earlier Eid Al Fitr, Khaleej Times reported nine nights of fireworks at Global Village, at 9 PM from the first day of Eid, and opening hours of 4 PM to 1 AM on the first three days of Shawwal. Season 31 runs until May 2027, so the park should be open on Eid, but the 2027 programme is not published. Expect a very busy evening.

Dubai Parks and Resorts #2
Dubai Parks and Resorts, including Motiongate Families who want rides, a laser show and fireworks

Dubai Parks and Resorts

For an earlier Eid, Khaleej Times listed laser shows at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 PM and fireworks by 9:30 PM on the first two days of Eid at Dubai Parks and Resorts. The report did not give a ticket price for the shows, so check the park's site for 2027. Our Motiongate guide covers rides, ages and how long to allow.

The Beach, JBR and Bluewaters #3
JBR and Bluewaters Island, Dubai Marina side Second-day fireworks by the sea

The Beach, JBR and Bluewaters

Khaleej Times listed fireworks at The Beach, JBR, and at Bluewaters at 9 PM on the second day of Eid for an earlier holiday. The report did not say whether watching is free, and the waterfront gets crowded, so arrive early and plan the Metro and tram home, because taxis are slow after a display. Our JBR guide covers the beach and the walk.

Hatta #4
Hatta, in the Hajar Mountains A first-day fireworks show away from the city

Hatta

Khaleej Times listed fireworks in Hatta at 8 PM on the first day of Eid for an earlier holiday. Hatta is a mountain town with a dam lake and a heritage village, so it works as a day out with an evening show, if one is held again. Our Hatta guide compares car, bus and taxi.

The Dubai Mall and the Fountain #5
Downtown Dubai; Dubai Mall / Burj Khalifa Metro station Eid shopping and an evening walk

The Dubai Mall and the Fountain

Khaleej Times described malls and markets as busy with shoppers buying Eid gifts in the days before an Eid. The Dubai Mall and the Fountain are among the busiest places on holiday evenings, so go by Metro, arrive early and expect queues. Our Dubai Mall guide covers hours, parking and what to see, and the Fountain show times come from Emaar.

Eid Al Fitr 2027 in Dubai: the short answer

Eid Al Fitr 2027 is expected on Tuesday 9 or Wednesday 10 March. Ramadan is expected to begin on Monday 8 February and to last 29 or 30 days, according to the Emirates Astronomical Society, quoted by Gulf News, and The National. The date is final only after the Shawwal crescent is sighted and the UAE announces it, so treat any date today as expected, not confirmed.

For a visitor, Eid means three public holiday days, or four if Ramadan lasts 30 days, and up to six days in a row with the weekend. Hotels fill, roads and beaches are busy, and fixed-time tickets sell out. Malls, restaurants, beaches and attractions stay open. Fireworks and events are announced in the days before, and as of 2 November 2026 none are published for 2027.

Our Ramadan 2027 dates guide covers the month before, the UAE public holidays 2027 guide lists the whole year, and the public holidays guide shows what closes on any holiday.

Dates and holiday length

UAE Cabinet rules give three paid holiday days for the first three days of Shawwal, the month after Ramadan. The National and Khaleej Times both say that if the crescent is not sighted, Ramadan has 30 days and the 30th day is also declared a holiday. The u.ae portal lists Eid Al Fitr as 1 to 3 Shawwal and notes the same extra day. Here is what that means for 2027, using the weekdays from the calendar.

WhatIf Ramadan has 29 daysIf Ramadan has 30 days
Crescent sightingEvening of Monday 8 March: crescent sightedEvening of Monday 8 March: crescent not sighted
First day of EidTuesday 9 MarchWednesday 10 March
Public holidayTuesday 9 to Thursday 11 March (3 days)Tuesday 9 to Friday 12 March (4 days, including the 30th day of Ramadan)
With the weekendFriday 12 March is outside the holiday; the weekend follows on 13 and 14 MarchSix days in a row, Tuesday 9 to Sunday 14 March

Expected dates, not confirmed. Gulf News and The National describe the same pattern; the official announcement sets the exact days.

Gulf News adds that Eid holidays are not moved to create longer weekends, so the length follows the moon. Khaleej Times puts the full travel window with weekends at about five to six days, which is why flights and hotels fill. Expect the airport and the main roads to be busy at the start and at the end of the break.

Moon sighting: why the date can move

Astronomers forecast the date, but the government decides it. According to The National, the UAE moon-sighting committee looks for the crescent on the 29th day of each Islamic month. If it is seen on the evening of Monday 8 March, Ramadan ends and Eid starts the next day. If not, Ramadan has 30 days and Eid starts on Wednesday 10 March.

The result can differ from the forecast. In March 2026, Khaleej Times reported that the crescent was not sighted on 18 March, and the UAE declared Friday 20 March as the first day of Eid Al Fitr. Because the announcement comes only on the evening before, a one-day change is normal and not a sign of a problem.

Plan with one day of flexibility. Khaleej Times advises choosing refundable fares and keeping room to change flights and accommodation. If a tour of ours falls on 9 or 10 March, tell us on WhatsApp and ask about the options once the date is announced.

Fireworks and Eid evenings

No Eid Al Fitr 2027 fireworks list is published yet. For an earlier Eid, Khaleej Times listed these Dubai venues. Use the table to see the pattern, not as a promise.

Global Village is the easiest to plan, because Season 31 runs until May 2027. Our Global Village Season 31 guide has tickets and hours, has tickets and hours. For Hatta, see Dubai to Hatta.

Private fireworks are illegal. Khaleej Times has quoted Abu Dhabi Police asking residents to avoid illegal fireworks and reckless driving during the Eid holidays, so do not bring or set off your own, and do not fly a drone over a display. Our drone rules guide gives the general rules.

Malls, shops and transport

Malls are among the busiest places in the days before and during Eid. Khaleej Times described malls and markets as busy with shoppers buying Eid gifts, called Eidiya, in the days before an Eid. If you want to shop, go on a weekday morning and keep the evening for something else. Our Dubai Mall guide covers hours, the Metro and what to see.

Banks, government offices and schools close. Hotels, malls, restaurants, beaches, theme parks and attractions stay open, and some small shops close on the morning of Eid. The RTA often publishes special Metro and bus timings for Eid, so check the S'hail app or rta.ae the day before you travel.

Opening hours of each attraction can change on the holiday, so check the venue's own site before you go.

What visitors notice at Eid Al Fitr

Eid ends the fasting month, so the mood changes from quiet days to a festival. These are the things a visitor sees:

  • Families gather and visit each other, so mornings are quiet and afternoons and evenings fill with people at beaches, parks and malls.
  • The greeting is "Eid Mubarak", and children often receive Eidiya gifts.
  • Hotels, flights and fixed-time tickets cost most on these days, and restaurants are full without a reservation.
  • The daytime rules of Ramadan end with the month, but each venue sets its own hours, so check them.
  • The weather in March is warm: highs of about 27-31°C and a sea of about 22-24°C, so beaches are busy, and midday is hot by the end of the month.

Our March 2027 events guide lists the other events of the month and the weather.

What to book before Eid

Put the crowded things on the quiet days and the quiet things on the crowded ones. On the holiday itself, the desert and the water are the places where crowds do not reach.

  • Sunrise balloon: from $275 per person, with a 30% deposit. It sells out one to two weeks ahead in any month, so book first. See the sunrise hot air balloon tour.
  • Shared yacht tour: from $32 per person, one hour, hourly departures, with full prepayment and strict punctuality. See the Dubai Marina shared yacht tour.
  • Desert safari: the full-day safari is from $45 per person or $65 with a 30-minute quad bike ride, 7 hours with hotel pickup and no prepayment. We agree the date on WhatsApp, so you can ask about a one-day change after the moon sighting.
  • Abu Dhabi: the city tour is from $45 per person shared, with 8:00 AM pickup. Roads to Abu Dhabi are busy on holiday weekends, and mosque visiting hours can change, so tell us your date.
