Five things to plan around in March 2027

The last week of Ramadan #1
Citywide; expected to end around 8 March Iftar evenings and the end-of-month atmosphere

The last week of Ramadan

Ramadan is expected to begin on 8 February and to last 29 or 30 days, so its final days fall at the start of March. Daytime stays quiet and evenings are busy, and opening hours can still differ from normal. Our Ramadan guides cover the daily rules, and the official announcement follows the moon sighting.

Eid Al Fitr holiday #2
UAE; expected Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 March, or to Friday 12 March Visitors who want to plan around crowds and a six-day break

Eid Al Fitr holiday

Khaleej Times expects Eid Al Fitr on 9 March, with the holiday running to 11 March if Ramadan has 29 days or to 12 March if it has 30. With the weekend that could be a six-day break for residents. Expect busy malls, beaches and roads, and book hotels and fixed-time tickets early.

Dubai World Cup, Meydan #3
Meydan Racecourse; Saturday 27 March Racing fans and a one-off evening out

Dubai World Cup, Meydan

TradeArabia reported that Meydan will close its season with the Dubai World Cup on 27 March, and the Dubai Racing Club says the meeting is held on the last Saturday of March. The grandstand seats more than 60,000. We did not find a dress code, gate times or prices for 2027, so check the club's ticket page.

Art Dubai, in April #4
Madinat Jumeirah; 7 to 11 April Visitors choosing between March and early April

Art Dubai, in April

The Art Dubai site lists the next fair on 7 to 11 April at Madinat Jumeirah, so a trip that ends in March will miss it. If art is the reason you are coming, the date matters more than the weather: April is also warmer. Our Art Dubai guide has the programme and tickets once published.

The Marina speedboat at 5 PM #5
Dubai Marina; 5 PM departure, $60 A sea outing while the evenings are still mild

The Marina speedboat at 5 PM

Our 90-minute shared speedboat tour is from $45 per person, and the last departure of the day at 5 PM is $60. From October to mid-March the sun sets during that ride, so the first half of March is the last chance for the sunset version. Meet at the marina pier 30 minutes before departure.

What's on in Dubai in March 2027: the short answer

The big dates are Tuesday 9 March, when Eid Al Fitr is expected to begin, and Saturday 27 March, when the Dubai World Cup is run at Meydan. Khaleej Times expects the Eid holiday to run from 9 to 11 March, or to 12 March if Ramadan has 30 days. TradeArabia reported the World Cup date, and the Dubai Racing Club says the meeting is held on the last Saturday of March.

In between, the Dubai Sports Council's 2026-27 calendar lists the Gold Polo Cup from 3 to 20 March, the Dubai Polo Challenge Cup on 6 March and L'Étape du Tour de France on 20 and 21 March. Art Dubai is not in March: its site lists 7 to 11 April. Everything below is as of 2 November 2026.

As of 2 November 2026. Organisers can change dates and venues; confirm on the official channel before you book. The Dubai Sports Council calendar also lists the Dubai Games in March without dates.

The quietest stretch for events is the first week, because it is the end of Ramadan. The busiest is 9 to 14 March, when the Eid holiday and the weekend run together, and then the last weekend of the month for the World Cup.

Ramadan's last days and Eid Al Fitr

Ramadan is expected to begin on Monday 8 February and last 29 or 30 days, so it ends at the start of March. Khaleej Times gives the Eid Al Fitr holiday as Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 March if Ramadan has 29 days, and Tuesday 9 to Friday 12 March if it has 30. The u.ae page lists Eid Al Fitr as 1 to 3 Shawwal and says that if Ramadan lasts 30 days, day 30 is also an official holiday. The exact days are confirmed after the moon sighting.

For a visitor, Eid means busy malls, beaches and roads, and fuller hotels. Global Village's official ticket rules show one practical effect: the AED 30 any-day ticket is valid on public holidays, the AED 25 weekday ticket is not, and the Tuesday ladies-and-families rule does not apply on public holidays. Our Eid Al Fitr guide covers the days in detail, and the Ramadan 2027 guide has the full set of expected dates.

What is open around Eid

A public holiday is a day off for workers, not a closure of the tourist city. Attractions set their own hours, and some change them for Eid, so check each venue's site for the day. Banks and government offices close, and the practical rule is to do paperwork before the holiday. Our public holidays guide lists what stays open and what does not.

Fixed-time tickets are the thing to protect. Our Burj Khalifa tickets, from $55, are issued for a fixed date and time and cannot be refunded or changed once issued, so confirm the date first. The full-day desert safari, from $45 per person, has no prepayment: you agree the date on WhatsApp and pay on the day, which suits a holiday when plans change. We tell you what is affected before you book.

Dubai World Cup, Saturday 27 March

TradeArabia reported on 5 June that Meydan will conclude the season with the Dubai World Cup on 27 March. The Dubai Racing Club's site says the meeting is held annually on the last Saturday of March, which agrees with that date. Meydan is the World Cup's permanent home. The club's site says the grandstand seats more than 60,000 and gives the address as Al Meydan Road, Nad Al Sheba 1, Dubai.

We did not find a dress code, gate times or ticket prices for 2027. The club's site has a ticket link, and its office phone is on the site. Reports differ on prize money, so we leave it out. The Carnival's earlier meetings run from November, so if you want to see Meydan without World Cup crowds, look at the club's race calendar for earlier meetings. Our Dubai World Cup guide covers the season.

Polo, cycling and other sport

The Dubai Sports Council's calendar, reported in October by TradeArabia and ARN News Centre, lists the Gold Polo Cup from 3 to 20 March and the Dubai Polo Challenge Cup on 6 March, and L'Étape du Tour de France on 20 and 21 March. The reports gave no venues for them, so confirm with the organisers. Our sports roundup keeps the season's full list.

The end of the cool season: weather and what to book

March is the last full month of comfortable weather. The long-term averages for Dubai International Airport give a mean daily high of about 29°C and a mean low of about 19°C, up from about 26°C and 16°C in February. We found no official date for the end of the high season, so use the weather as your guide: April brings warmer days, and our Dubai in March guide and the month-by-month pages show the trend.

Outdoor plans still work well. The full-day desert safari is from $45 per person, or $65 with a 30-minute quad bike ride, with hotel pickup. The Marina speedboat tour at 5 PM, $60, still catches the sunset until mid-March. The Abu Dhabi city tour is from $45 shared with 8:00 AM pickup; mosque hours can change in Ramadan, so tell us your date. If you want normal hours and warm weather, the days from about 13 March are the clean choice, after Eid.
