Carnival opening night, Friday 6 November

The Carnival returns to Meydan on Friday 6 November, the first of 16 race meetings, according to Khaleej Times. General admission was reported from AED 10, so this is the cheapest way to see what a Meydan evening is like before the bigger dates. Start times are on the club's ticket page, and we have not seen them yet.

Festive Friday, 18 December #2
Meydan Racecourse; one of three feature meetings A race night in the holiday season

Festive Friday, 18 December

Khaleej Times names Festive Friday, on 18 December, as one of the three feature meetings. It falls inside the Dubai Shopping Festival, which runs from 4 December to 17 January, and a week before Christmas, so hotels and taxis are busy. We have not seen a programme or prices for this meeting, so check the club before you plan around it.

Fashion Friday, 22 January #3
Meydan Racecourse; one of three feature meetings Guests who enjoy dressing up for the evening

Fashion Friday, 22 January

The second feature meeting is Fashion Friday on 22 January, according to Khaleej Times. The name points to the style side of the night, but we have not seen a programme, so do not assume a competition or a theme. The club's dress code applies to everyone: smart clothes, and hats or fascinators are welcome.

Emirates Super Saturday, 27 February #4
Meydan Racecourse; the third feature meeting Serious racegoers, a month before the World Cup

Emirates Super Saturday, 27 February

Khaleej Times lists Emirates Super Saturday on 27 February as the third feature meeting. Last season it ran on 28 February and featured the Group 2 Al Maktoum Classic, according to the club. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February, so this date may fall inside it; check the evening timings with the club.

Dubai World Cup, Saturday 27 March #5
Meydan Racecourse; the 31st running The biggest day of the season

Dubai World Cup, Saturday 27 March

The club's calendar marks Saturday 27 March 2027 for the World Cup, which it holds on the last Saturday of March. Last season's meeting offered a US$30.5 million prize pool across six Group 1 and three Group 2 races, with US$12 million for the headline race. Prices for 2027 were not in the reports we read; hats and fascinators are encouraged.

Dubai World Cup 2027 and the Racing Carnival: the short answer

The Dubai World Cup 2027 is on Saturday 27 March 2027 at Meydan Racecourse, and the Dubai Racing Carnival that leads up to it opens on Friday 6 November 2026. According to Khaleej Times, the Carnival has 16 race meetings and runs until March. The Dubai Racing Club announcement, as reported by Gulf Today, puts the last Carnival date on Friday 12 March. The World Cup, the 31st running, is a separate big day two weeks later.

You do not need to know racing to enjoy a night out here. Khaleej Times reported on 8 September that general admission starts at AED 10, the Paddock Garden at AED 75 and hospitality packages at AED 345. You may read that race nights are free. We could not confirm free entry: neither the club's pages nor the Khaleej Times report mention it, so treat it as unconfirmed and check the ticket page before you go.

The club enforces a smart dress code, there is no Metro link listed for the racecourse, and everything below is as of 2 November 2026. Dates and prices can change, so check the Dubai Racing Club website before you buy.

The 2026-27 racing calendar

The Carnival has 16 meetings, but the reports we read name only some of them. This table lists the dates that are confirmed by the sources named in the notes.

As of 2 November 2026. The club's online calendar also marks other Fridays from 20 November, but the race details had not loaded when we checked, so we list only dates confirmed in reports.

The club calls its Carnival meetings race nights, so plan on the evening, and the feature days are likely to draw the biggest crowds. If you are choosing only one date, pick a feature meeting or the World Cup. For other sport in the same months, our sports events in Dubai 2026-27 guide gives the season roundup, and the March 2027 guide covers the World Cup month.

Tickets: what the reports say, and the free-entry question

Tickets, memberships and hospitality are sold through the Dubai Racing Club website, according to Khaleej Times. The prices below are the starting prices reported on 8 September for the Carnival. They are not World Cup prices: we found no 2027 World Cup price list in the reports we read, so check the club before you plan.

AreaStarting priceNotes

Prices as reported on 8 September 2026. Check the club's ticket page, because prices differ by meeting.

On free entry: the sources we could read for this season show a ticket from AED 10, so we do not promise free entry. If a free option exists for a particular night, the club's ticket page will say so.

Dress code at Meydan

The club's visitor page sets out the rules in plain terms. Men are required to wear smart attire or national dress, and women should choose modest dresses or skirts of an appropriate length. Hats and fascinators are encouraged, especially for the Dubai World Cup. The following are not permitted:

  • Shorts and sportswear
  • Torn or ripped jeans
  • Open-neck t-shirts and tank tops
  • Trainers and flip-flops

A smart shirt and trousers with leather shoes, or a long dress with flat or heeled shoes, covers it. Bring a light layer, because winter evenings in Dubai are cooler after dark. Our Dubai dress code guide covers the general rules for malls, mosques and public places.

Getting to Meydan and getting home

Meydan Racecourse is in Nad Al Sheba. The club says it is about 10 minutes from the Dubai World Trade Centre and about 20 minutes from Mall of the Emirates, by car or taxi, and that on-site parking is provided. It also arranges helicopter arrivals through its office. The page does not list a Metro or bus connection, so for most visitors the answer is a taxi or ride-hailing car.

The way home is the part to plan. After the last race many guests leave together, so expect a queue for taxis and ride-hailing cars, and keep a few minutes of margin if you have a flight or an early tour the next morning. Our taxi and Careem guide explains the options and the fares.

Ramadan 2027 and the racing season

Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February, according to our Ramadan 2027 guide, so part of the late-season racing falls inside it. Last season the club ran Iftar at the Races meetings on 20 February, 6 March and 13 March, and Emirates Super Saturday on 28 February.

We have not seen the Ramadan 2027 format. Check the club for evening start times and any iftar packages, and read the Ramadan guide for the daytime rules in the holy month.

Fitting race night into your Dubai days

We do not sell racing tickets: buy them from the Dubai Racing Club. What we can help with is the rest of the day, because the Carnival meetings are race nights.

A morning or early afternoon on foot works well. Our Old Dubai walking tour is from $35 per person and takes 3-4 hours, with a guide through Al Fahidi, Al Seef, an abra ride and the souks. A timed Burj Khalifa ticket, from $55, takes 1.5-2 hours, and we book the slot and send the e-tickets on WhatsApp. Leave the late afternoon free to change and travel.

Avoid stacking a very early start on the day after a race night. If you want the sunrise balloon, from $275, fly on a different morning. A full-day desert safari from $45 is a good plan for the day before or after, with no prepayment.

What is not confirmed yet

A few details were still open as of 2 November 2026. Check each one with the club before you pay or plan around it.

  • Start times and gate-opening times for each meeting
  • World Cup 2027 ticket prices and hospitality packages
  • The prize money for 2027: last season's World Cup offered US$30.5 million, but we have not seen a 2027 figure
  • Whether any meeting has free entry
  • The Ramadan format of the evening meetings
  • Whether the Morning Gallop, a trainer-and-jockey breakfast held last season on the Thursday before the World Cup, from 6 to 9 AM, returns
