Dubai has two outlet centres: Dubai Outlet Mall on the Dubai-Al Ain Road (Route 66) and The Outlet Village in Jebel Ali, next to Dubai Parks and Resorts. Dubai Outlet Mall says that over 300 brands give at least 40% off. The Outlet Village is the more luxury-led of the two. Both are a drive from the tourist areas, so plan a half day. This guide gives opening hours, brands, the honest limits of the discounts, bus and taxi options and who should skip the trip.

The mall's home page says over 300 brands give at least 40% off and some go up to 65% off. Its FAQ gives 30% to 90% off the original price, depending on the shop. Food, electronics, jewellery and medicine are generally not discounted, and each shop sets its own exchange policy.

Five things to know before you go
#1
Dubai Outlet Mall
The larger and cheaper of the two outlets. Its website lists fashion, shoes, accessories, homeware, toys and sportswear, with Puma and several smaller labels named as featured outlets. It says over 300 brands give at least 40% off. The photo here is a general mall interior, not the outlet itself.
#2
The Outlet Village
A village-style outlet centre with a more luxury-led line-up: the official site names Tory Burch, Longchamp and Zegna. It gives no discount percentages, so compare the tag with the price you know at home. The photo here shows another Dubai shopping area, not the village.
#3
Bargain Monday
The mall says that every Monday it offers extra discounts on top of already reduced goods. Its banners mention buy one get one free, 50% to 75% off all items and any two for AED 249, mostly linked to one sportswear brand. The terms are not shown, so ask in the shop before you queue.
#4
RTA buses 66 and 67
The mall's bus page lists both routes starting in Bur Dubai and stopping at a station called Al Menhad 2. Departures are about two hours apart on each route, so together they give roughly one bus an hour in the daytime. Check the live times in the RTA app, because some times on the page look repeated.
#5
Taxi or ride-hailing
Dubai Outlet Mall says it is about a 20-minute drive from the World Trade Centre, with access from Route 66, Emirates Road and Al Khail Road. A taxi is the easy option for The Outlet Village, which has no Metro or bus directions on its site. Arrange the ride back before the shops close.
Dubai outlet malls: the short answer
Dubai has two outlet centres: Dubai Outlet Mall on the Dubai-Al Ain Road (Route 66) and The Outlet Village in Jebel Ali, next to Dubai Parks and Resorts. Dubai Outlet Mall is the one for everyday brands such as sportswear and shoes. Its website says over 300 brands give at least 40% off and some go up to 65% off. The Outlet Village is more luxury-led, with Tory Burch, Longchamp and Zegna named on its official site.
Prices are printed on the tags, so there is no haggling in either place. Discounts differ from shop to shop and from season to season, so read every percentage in this guide as the mall's own claim, not a promise. Both centres are on the edge of the city, on opposite sides of it, so choose one and give it half a day. If you only have a few hours for shopping, our guide to the best malls in Dubai lists easier options in the centre.
The two outlets side by side
The table uses each outlet's own website. Where a site gives no figure, we say so.

Dubai Outlet Mall: brands, discounts and Bargain Monday
The mall's home page lists fashion, shoes and footwear, accessories and jewellery, entertainment and toys, homeware, electronics, sportswear and food. Featured outlets include SJP, Puma, Philippe Model, Edgers London and Osvaldo Sabatini. The mall's own pages disagree on size: the home page says over 200 shops, while the FAQ says about 240 stores and over 1,300 international brands.
The discount claims also differ. The home page says over 300 brands offer at least 40% off and some go up to 65% off. The FAQ says discounts are typically 30% to 90% off the original price, depending on the shop, and that food, electronics, jewellery and medicine are generally not included. So the biggest numbers are the best case, not the average, and you should not plan to buy a phone or a ring here at a discount.
Every Monday the mall runs Bargain Monday, which it describes as extra discounts on top of already discounted goods. Its deal banners show offers such as buy one get one free, 50% to 75% off all items and any two for AED 249, and the links we saw point to one sportswear brand, so not every shop is likely to take part.
The FAQ says each shop sets its own refund and exchange policy and the mall does not control it. Ask about exchanges for sale items before you pay, because you may not be able to come back. The services page lists valet parking, parking spots, prayer rooms, cash machines and wheelchair access.
The Outlet Village: Jebel Ali, beside the theme parks
The official site says The Outlet Village is next to Dubai Parks and Resorts and names Tory Burch, Longchamp and Zegna. Gulf News, covering its opening, described a village inspired by the Tuscan hilltop town of San Gimignano and listed DKNY, Dunhill, Ted Baker, Tommy Hilfiger and Diesel among the first brands, plus multi-brand stores with designer labels. As one example, it reported a Ted Baker dress marked down from AED 1,175 to AED 400. That was a launch-time price, so use it only to see the scale of the discounts, and expect today's line-up to differ.
The village's website gives no discount percentages and no transport directions, so the only reliable way to check a current price is to look at the tag. The customer line is 800 738245. Our Motiongate guide describes the Metro to Ibn Battuta and the RTA bus DPR1 to the parks next door. Check with the RTA app whether the bus stops at the village before you rely on it.
The village suits a family that is already spending a day at the parks: rides in the morning, an hour of shopping after. It is less convenient as a trip of its own from Downtown or Bur Dubai. Dubai Outlet Mall is on the other side of the city, so do not plan both in one day.
How much will you really save?
A sign that says 50% off only helps if the starting price is real. Before you buy, check the same item on your phone at the price you know from home, and compare the final price after discount, not the percentage. Outlet stock can be last season's lines or items made for outlets, which is normal, but it is worth asking.
VAT also matters. Shop prices in the UAE include 5% VAT, and visitors can claim back most of it on goods from participating shops when the tax invoice is at least AED 250. The mall's services page does not mention the scheme, so ask at each till whether the shop takes part. Our VAT refund guide has the steps for the airport.
Timing can change the comparison. The Dubai Shopping Festival runs from 4 December to 17 January, and the main malls cut prices too, so the gap between an outlet and a central mall can be smaller then. If you only want one or two items, a sale in The Dubai Mall may beat a two-hour round trip to an outlet; our Dubai Mall guide shows what is there.
Getting there without a car
Dubai Outlet Mall is the easier of the two by public transport. The mall's bus page lists RTA routes 66 and 67 along Route 66, both starting in Bur Dubai and stopping at Al Menhad 2 station. Each route runs about every two hours, with the routes offset from each other. The last bus back on route 67 is listed at about 11:15 PM. The page shows identical times in both directions for route 66, which looks like a typing error, so confirm the live timetable in the RTA app. The fare is not listed; our bus guide explains how to pay with a Nol card.
By car or taxi, the mall names Route 66, Emirates Road and Al Khail Road as the main access roads and puts the drive at about 20 minutes from the World Trade Centre. For the outlet in Jebel Ali, a taxi or ride-hailing car is the simplest way; see our taxi and Careem guide for fares and apps. Book the ride home before the shops close, because finding a car at the edge of the city can take longer than in the centre.
Is the trip worth it?
It is worth it if you want sportswear, shoes or basic fashion and can spend an afternoon, or if you are already at the theme parks and want a short look at designer outlets. It is not worth it if you are in Dubai for two days, want souvenirs, or only need one item. For souvenirs, the souvenir guide is a better start, and the Old Dubai souks sell gifts that malls do not; our Old Dubai walking tour passes them with a guide.
If you do go, leave the evening free. A half day at an outlet fits well before our full-day desert safari the next day, or before a quiet dinner. Keep a spare bag or suitcase space in mind, check your airline's baggage allowance, and read your own country's customs rules for the goods you bring home.
FAQ
How much discount is there at Dubai Outlet Mall?
The mall's home page says over 300 brands give at least 40% off and some go up to 65% off. Its FAQ gives 30% to 90% off the original price, depending on the shop. Food, electronics, jewellery and medicine are generally not discounted, and each shop sets its own exchange policy.
What are the opening hours of Dubai Outlet Mall?
According to the mall's FAQ, it is open 10 AM to 10 PM Sunday to Thursday and 10 AM to midnight on Friday and Saturday. Hours can change in Ramadan and on public holidays, so phone +971 4 423 4666 or check the website before a long trip.
How do I get to Dubai Outlet Mall without a car?
Take RTA bus 66 or 67 from Bur Dubai. The mall's schedule shows each route about every two hours, stopping at Al Menhad 2 station on Route 66. Check the live times in the RTA app. A taxi is quicker; the mall says it is about 20 minutes' drive from the World Trade Centre.
Where is The Outlet Village in Dubai?
It is in Jebel Ali, next to Dubai Parks and Resorts, on the opposite side of the city from Dubai Outlet Mall. Its official site gives opening hours but no transport directions, so plan a taxi or ride-hailing car, or check the RTA app for the bus link from Ibn Battuta station.
What are the opening hours of The Outlet Village?
Its official contact page lists Monday to Thursday 10 AM to 10 PM and Friday to Sunday 10 AM to 11 PM for retail and food. Check before you go, because hours change around holidays and events. The customer line is 800 738245.
Can I get a VAT refund at the outlets?
Possibly. Visitors can claim back most of the 5% VAT on goods from participating shops when the tax invoice is at least AED 250. Neither outlet's website explains the scheme, so ask at each till whether that shop takes part, and read our VAT refund guide for the airport steps.
Are outlet prices cheaper than The Dubai Mall?
Often, but not always. The discounts depend on the shop and the season, and The Dubai Mall also has sales, especially during the Shopping Festival. Compare the final price with the price you know at home, and do not count on discounts for electronics or jewellery.
Should I visit Dubai Outlet Mall or The Outlet Village?
Choose Dubai Outlet Mall for sportswear, shoes and everyday brands, and for the easier bus link. Choose The Outlet Village for designer labels or if you are already at Dubai Parks and Resorts. They are on opposite sides of the city, so do not plan both in one day.
