Five things to plan around in February 2027
#1
Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships
The tournament site gives 14 to 27 February and has separate ATP and WTA ticket tabs, but it did not say which week belongs to which tour, and ticket information was marked as coming soon. Both weeks fall inside the expected Ramadan, so check session times and entry rules when tickets open.
#2
The start of Ramadan
Khaleej Times and The National both report that Ramadan is expected to begin on Monday 8 February, subject to the official moon sighting. Daytime is quieter and evenings are busy. Our Ramadan guides cover the daily rules; this article lists what is on in February around the month.
#3
Sharjah Light Festival
The festival's site still shows its 15th edition, with shows daily from 6 pm to 11 pm and until midnight at weekends, at venues including Al Majaz Waterfront and Sharjah Fort. It gives no 2027 dates. An earlier edition, the 13th, ran from 7 to 18 February. Treat February as a possible slot only and do not book around it yet.
#4
Global Village, Season 31
The official site lists 4 pm to midnight from Sunday to Wednesday and 4 pm to 1 am from Thursday to Saturday, with an any-day ticket at AED 30 and a weekday ticket at AED 25. It does not publish Ramadan hours yet, and hours often change in the holy month, so check the site before 8 February.
#5
A sunrise balloon before the busy weeks
Our sunrise balloon flight is from $275 per person, with pre-dawn hotel pickup and 4-5 hours door to door, finishing with breakfast at a Bedouin-style camp. A 30% deposit confirms it, and flights depend on weather. The flight is at dawn, but ask us on WhatsApp how the breakfast works on your date if Ramadan has started.
What's on in Dubai in February 2027: the short answer
The dates to know are Saturday 6 February for Chinese New Year, Monday 8 February for the expected start of Ramadan, and 14 to 27 February for the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. The tennis dates are on the tournament's official site. Khaleej Times and The National both give 8 February as the expected start of Ramadan, and the Chinese calendar puts Chinese New Year on 6 February, in the Year of the Goat.
The Dubai Sports Council's 2026-27 calendar, reported in October by TradeArabia and ARN News Centre, adds the UAE Tour for women and for men, a Dubai cycling race and a Ramadan tour. Most of the month falls inside Ramadan, so the useful question for a visitor is what changes, not only what is on. Everything below is as of 2 November 2026.
The February 2027 calendar
Sources are in the last column. Where a source gave no venue, the table says so.

| Mon 15 to Sun 21 Feb | UAE Tour Men | Venue not stated | Dubai Sports Council calendar |
| Sat 27 Feb | Meydan race night, probably Emirates Super Saturday | Meydan | The Dubai Racing Club calendar marks this date but does not label it; the 2026 Super Saturday was on the last Saturday of February |
| All month | Global Village, Season 31 | Dubailand | Official site: to May 2027 |
As of 2 November 2026. Organisers can change dates and venues; confirm on the official channel before you book.
The first week, 1 to 7 February, is the last stretch before Ramadan, with normal hours and the most events. Valentine's Day on Sunday 14 February is the opening day of the tennis, so book restaurants early.
Chinese New Year on Saturday 6 February
Chinese New Year is on Saturday 6 February 2027, in the Year of the Goat. It is not a UAE public holiday: it is not on the official list on u.ae. Dragon Mart's own site lists no Chinese New Year events for 2027, and gives opening hours of 10:00 to 22:00 from Sunday to Thursday and 10:00 to 23:00 on Friday and Saturday. Ramadan is expected two days later, so decorations and special menus, if there are any, are likely to be announced by individual malls and restaurants close to the date.
Our Chinese New Year guide covers what to look for, including Dragon Mart.
Ramadan from 8 February: what it changes for events
Ramadan is expected to begin on Monday 8 February, and about three weeks of the month fall inside it. The start is subject to the official moon sighting, so it can move by a day. Our Ramadan 2027 guide has the dates, and the Ramadan guide for tourists covers eating, dress and opening hours. This section only covers how Ramadan touches the February programme.
| Dates | Status | What it means for events |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 7 Feb | Before Ramadan | Normal hours; Chinese New Year on 6 February; the UAE Tour Women and a Dubai cycling race |
| Mon 8 Feb | Ramadan expected to begin | Subject to the moon; the Nad Al Sheba Ramadan Tour starts the same day |
| 14 to 27 Feb | Ramadan, tennis fortnight | Check session times and entry rules when tickets open |
| 28 Feb onwards | Last days of Ramadan expected | Eid Al Fitr is expected from Tuesday 9 March; see our March guide |
Expected dates as of 2 November 2026; the official announcement follows the moon sighting.
Sports events carry on in Ramadan: the Dubai Sports Council calendar even names one tour after the month. Opening hours, entertainment and eating in public are what change. Global Village has not published Ramadan hours, so check its site before you go. For our own tours, we tell you before you book what is affected: for example, entertainment and alcohol service at the desert camp may be limited in Ramadan.
Tennis: the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships
The official site gives 14 to 27 February 2027 at the Dubai Duty Free tennis stadium. It has separate ATP and WTA ticket tabs, and the pages we read said ticketing information would be available soon, with no prices and no statement of which week belongs to which tour. Treat any ticket price you see elsewhere as unconfirmed until the official page lists it.
Our tennis guide covers the venue and getting there once details are published. If you plan a match day, leave time for taxi queues after the evening sessions and book your transport home before you go.
Not in February, or not confirmed
A few events that listing sites sometimes place in this month are not on the February calendar as of 2 November 2026.
- The Dubai International Boat Show: it is not in February this time. The official site lists the 2026 edition on 25 to 29 November 2026 at Dubai Harbour, and shows no 2027 dates.
- Sharjah Light Festival: no 2027 dates on its official site. The 13th edition ran from 7 to 18 February, so February is possible, but it is not confirmed.
- Dubai Food Festival: we found no 2027 dates; see our food festival guide for the latest.
- Ticket prices for the tennis: not published on the official page we read.
Our Sharjah Light Festival guide will carry the dates when they are announced.
February weather and how to plan the month
February is still cool. The long-term averages for Dubai International Airport give a mean daily high of about 26°C and a mean low of about 16°C, so it is comfortable outdoors and cold in the desert after dark. Our Dubai in February guide has more on the sea and what to pack.
To keep the plan simple, put the fixed-slot things in the first week, before Ramadan: the sunrise balloon from $275, and the Old Dubai walking tour from $35, which is a comfortable 3-4 hours on foot in February. The full-day desert safari is from $45 with hotel pickup and no prepayment, and in Ramadan we tell you how the camp programme changes on your date. For the weeks after, see our March guide.
