Five places to play or try golf in Dubai

Emirates Golf Club #1
Majlis, Faldo and Par 3 Academy courses Golfers who want the tournament course

Emirates Golf Club

Emirates Golf Club has the Majlis Course, which hosts the Dubai Desert Classic, the Faldo Course and a Par 3 Academy Course. The Dubai Golf website lists a Faldo Night Sip and Swing promotion, but we could not read its price or hours. The tournament site says the Metro stops outside the club entrance.

Jumeirah Golf Estates #2
Earth Course and Fire Course Golfers who want a second championship-level course

Jumeirah Golf Estates

Jumeirah Golf Estates has two courses on the Dubai Golf visitor list, the Earth and the Fire Course. The Earth Course hosts the DP World Tour Championship in November, according to our sports events guide. Book through the visitor page, and ask the club about buggies, range balls and dress code before you pay.

Dubai Creek #3
Championship Course, with the Peter Cowen Academy Golfers who want a round close to the city centre

Dubai Creek

Dubai Creek has the Championship Course on the Dubai Golf visitor list. The group's website also lists the Peter Cowen Academy and a junior development programme at Dubai Creek, so it is a sensible choice if you want a lesson as well as a round. We could not read its green fees, so check the booking page.

Trump International Golf Club: night golf #4
DAMAC Hills; holes 10 to 18 and a floodlit 9-hole par-3 course Golfers who want to avoid the heat or play after work

Trump International Golf Club: night golf

The club says night golf is played on holes 10 to 18 of the Championship Course under LED floodlights, and its 9-hole par-3 course is lit for play late into the evening. Its own tee-time page lists a rental set from AED 160 for the par-3 course and AED 450 for 18 holes, and a buggy at AED 400 for 18 holes.

Topgolf Dubai #5
Emirates Hills; open until 2 AM Groups with mixed skills, and non-golfers

Topgolf Dubai

Topgolf is a bay game, not a course: you hit microchipped balls at targets from a reserved bay, with food and drinks. The site lists closing at 2 AM and opening at 9 or 10 AM, depending on the day, and bays are reserved online. Prices are on a separate page that we could not open, so check before you go.

Golf in Dubai for tourists: the short answer

Yes, tourists can play golf in Dubai without a membership. The Dubai Golf website lists six courses at three clubs for visitor booking: Majlis, Faldo and Par 3 Academy at Emirates Golf Club, the Championship Course at Dubai Creek, and the Earth and Fire courses at Jumeirah Golf Estates. Tee times for these clubs are booked through the Viya Golf visitor page. Trump International Golf Club at DAMAC Hills takes bookings online, by app and by phone.

Prices are the hard part. Green fees move with season, day of the week and time of day, and the official club pages we could open did not show a fixed price. We could not open the Dubai Golf course pages at all, so we do not quote a green fee that we have not seen. The honest advice is to pick your date, look at the live price on the booking page and then compare an early-morning time with a late-afternoon time, because some clubs price them differently.

Courses visitors can book

This table shows what the official sites list. Courses, prices and dates can change, so confirm with the club.

For a first round in Dubai, a par-3 course is the gentler choice. Emirates Golf Club has a Par 3 Academy Course and Trump has a floodlit 9-hole par-3 course. A par-3 round is shorter, easier to play in a mixed group and needs less equipment.

What a round costs, and what we could not confirm

Independent price guides quote very different green fees for the same course, so we do not repeat them. Trump Golf Dubai says the best available public tee-time rates are online and cover day and night play. The Dubai Golf clubs send visitors to the Viya Golf booking page, and the price for your date is shown there. Our advice is to check the live price for two or three dates and to compare a morning time with a late-afternoon time.

One club publishes extras. The Trump Golf Dubai tee-time page lists the figures below. The list on the page is dated at the start of last year, so confirm the current price when you book.

At those rates, a rental set, shoes and a buggy for 18 holes come to AED 1,000 before the green fee. If you play only once, a 9-hole or par-3 round with hired clubs is a much smaller cost. If you will play several times, bring your own clubs and check the airline's rules for sports equipment. For wider budgeting, see how much a Dubai trip costs.

Night golf and evening golf

Night golf matters in Dubai because the middle of the day is hot for much of the year. Trump International says night golf is played on holes 10 to 18 of its Championship Course under LED floodlights. The club's 9-hole par-3 course is also floodlit, and the club says it can be played late into the evening. The page does not give the season or the closing time, so ask when you book.

At Emirates Golf Club, the Dubai Golf website lists an ongoing promotion called Faldo Night Sip and Swing. We could not read the details, so we cannot tell you the price, the hours or how many holes it covers. Ask the club directly. If you only want to hit balls at night, Topgolf Dubai is open until 2 AM, and our guide to Dubai at night lists other late options.

From June to September, plan golf for the first tee time of the morning or for the floodlit holes. Our guide to Dubai in summer explains the heat and humidity, and the cooler months are covered in things to do in Dubai in winter.

Lessons and an easy first try

If you have never held a club, start with a lesson or a bay game, not a championship course. Trump's Golf Performance Academy lists individual and group lessons, ladies tuition and junior tuition, and the club has a TrackMan range and indoor swing studios. Dubai Golf lists the Peter Cowen Academy Dubai and the Tommy Fleetwood Academy Dubai. We did not see lesson prices, so ask for a price before you book.

Topgolf Dubai is the least intimidating start. It is a game of hitting balls at targets, and groups with mixed skills play it together. Ask at the reservation stage whether clubs are included.

Watching golf: two tournaments

Golf fans can watch the pros without playing. The DP World Tour Championship is played on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in mid-November, and our sports events guide has its dates and the other big sports dates this winter.

The Dubai Desert Classic is on 21 to 24 January 2027 at Emirates Golf Club, on the Majlis Course, according to the tournament's own website. Tickets come in four categories: General Admission, Dallah Lounge Hospitality, Clubhouse and Rooftop18, and the site did not list prices when we read it. There is no public parking at the club, and the nearest Metro stop is Al Fardan Exchange on the Red Line, directly outside the club entrance. The Tournament Town fan village is free, with outdoor entertainment from 10 AM to 11 PM.

Before you book: a short checklist

These points save time and money when you plan a round:

  • Pick the time of day first. Early morning and late afternoon are more comfortable than midday, and some clubs price them differently, so ask.
  • Ask what the green fee includes. Buggy, range balls and the development fee are listed separately at some clubs.
  • Ask about dress code. Each club sets its own, and we could not read them.
  • Check transport. Emirates Golf Club has a Metro stop outside. For the other clubs we found no public transport information, so use a taxi or a ride-hailing car and arrange the return.
  • Book a lesson or a par-3 round if you are new. A long course is slow and hard on a beginner.

Golf fills a morning well and leaves the rest of the day free. In the evening, our full-day desert safari is from $45 per person with hotel pickup and no prepayment, and the shared Marina yacht tour is from $32. Ask us on WhatsApp for pickup times that fit your tee time. If you hire a car to reach the courses, read our guide to tolls, parking and fines first.
